About

A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Marc Sheehan and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. The two musicians had previously performed together in Mytown, an Irish-based boy band that enjoyed moderate success at home but failed to generate international acclaim. After the group disbanded, Sheehan and O'Donoghue spent several years in Los Angeles, where they worked as producers alongside the likes of Teddy Riley, the Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. They later relocated to Dublin and recruited Glen Power as their drummer, trading promising careers in production for a blend of contemporary R&B and polished, anthemic pop/rock.

Irish alt-rockers The Script haven’t wasted any time getting their music career off the ground since their eponymous studio debut surfaced in 2008. The self-described Celtic soul trio is enjoying the continuing success of its third album, the aptly titled “#3.” That 2012 release, which features the platinum-selling track “Hall of Fame” with will.i.am., topped the charts in Ireland and the U.K. and has been covered by musical television series “Glee” — a true pop culture nod of approval.   To date, The Script has helmed two extensive headlining world tours, both of which boasted impressive ticket sales across the globe, including several sold-out arena shows. The soulful performers have also provided opening support for concerts by some of today’s most iconic acts, including fellow Europeans U2 and Paul McCartney.   The Script has even transitioned to the screen, licensing a few of their singles for use on U.S. shows such as “90210” and “The Vampire Diaries” and U.K. programs “EastEnders” and “Made in Chelsea.” Frontman and singer/songwriter Danny O’Donoghue also took part in “The Voice U.K.,” serving as a coach alongside Tom Jones, Jessie J and will.i.am.

    Amazing!

by Savi on 4/17/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

This concert was a dream come true! The script was incredible, at one point they came into the crowd and performed. They were very interactive with the crowd the entire time. The only issue was the opener didn’t perform, but honestly I didn’t come for the opener so it wasn’t a big deal for me personally. The script came on stage exactly 1 hour after the concert was supposed to start so I’d say they started right on time as well. I cannot wait to see them again next time they’re in the states!

    Great music. Infectious energy.

by Phyl on 4/17/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Even when playing small venues, The Script manages to harness the energy of a stadium show and deliver in ways that have you singing along to every song, even if it’s the first time you’ve heard it. And yet they reach the audience on such a personal level! Great music. Amazing performers. Great show!

    Could have been better

by Noor on 4/16/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

The first 15-20 of Main act was not enjoyable due to the speakers sounding off. But the show got better once that seemed to have been fixed.

    Refund ?

by Critt on 4/16/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I went to see Calum Scott and was very disappointed he wasn’t coming - I received no notice. I asked for a refund but was told Ticketmaster doesn’t do that. I came home from vacation early / paid a babysitter etc. we ended up leaving the show before the band came on. I’m sure the script is amazing but not what I paid to come to see.

    The Fillmore was absolutely beautiful!

by Deborah on 4/16/22The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

First of all walking in the Fillmore was absolutely breathtaking. Very cute venue! Stage was kinda high enough to see from standing in the middle of the standing area as long as you’re not standing in front of insanely tall people. And lastly the script was amazing! I had such a great time.

    The Script/Calum Scott

by Sandy on 4/16/22Orpheum Theatre presented by Citizens - Boston

We booked tickets to see Calum Scott so very disappointed that he cancelled due to illness. We hadn't heard of the script but enjoyed it. They were great with the crowd.

    Telling it like it is

    by R. C. on 4/16/22

This is the first time I saw the band live. I have been a fan since 2010, but somehow it wasn’t in the cards to see them until now. And what a venue to see them in! Radio City Music Hall. Plus, it’s their Greatest Hits Tour. So I had high expectations. So, imagine my dissatisfaction when I got to see them. I don’t know if it’s the Sound Engineer’s fault or Danny phoning in his performance. But the band and Danny sounded awful. Their arrangements for the acoustic versions was so bland it was like listening to someone doing bad karaoke. Seeing concert clips they did for Aviva Stadium and Isle of Wight and the Vevo Showcase they did in Amsterdam singing The Man Who Can’t Be Moved is perfection. I don’t know what’s going on with the band these days, especially with Mark’s absence but (sigh). I’m giving it 2 stars because Calum Scott saved the night.

I am so excited that The Script were in Boston again (they've been sorely missed!). Their show was high-energy, their music is incredible and the Orpheum was the right size venue to see them. If you get the chance, see them!!

    Life Giving

by Nat on 4/15/22Orpheum Theatre presented by Citizens - Boston

From the moment they took the stage, every second filled me with the purest, most absolute joy. Nothing could have been better about that concert. I walked out of there feeling like I’d gained three years of life. I can’t remember ever feeling so happy and healthy and alive. If humans are capable of magic, it happened at that concert.

    The Script + Calum Scott

by JB87 on 4/15/22Orpheum Theatre presented by Citizens - Boston

Getting into the arena was simple. Very smooth. Then to our seats, easy too. We were a bit taken aback by the seats themselves which felt and looked like they were from the 1950s. Super old and rickety. The space between my knees and the back of the seat in front of me was negative inches, and i had to scrunch like a canned sardine. We then were expecting Calum Scott to open, but we were sitting there waiting, about 45 minutes, and then finally The Script came out. They were fantastic. Like absolutely unreal. The concert itself was unbelievable. But I drove up to Boston from NY with my girlfriend as a surprise as she’s a huuuge Calum Scott fan, and that was the main reason I took her. I’m a big fan of The Script so I was fine, but my girlfriend and I were very disappointed to find out that he would not be performing. Besides the lack of space for my body in my seat, and the fact that 50% of the promised performers wouldn’t be showing up, it was a night to remember!
