About

The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight are a band of classical musicians from the United Kingdom who transform rock and metal songs into dark symphonies. The group of 14 musicians regularly performs concerts bathed in an ethereal candlelit glow as they turn songs by AC/DC, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Linkin Park and more into swirling, dark rhapsodies that bridge the chasm between metal, hard rock and classical music. In 2024, The Rock Orchestra will embark on a tour of their native U.K. as well as Europe and the U.S. to present their thrilling new 90-minute show.

  • FANTASTIC

by SBC on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so much fun! The musicians are talented and the execution put a fun and interesting spin on the music I love. I would definitely see this show again!

  • Revenge of the Nerds

by Fun evening on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Reminded me of the movie Revenge of the Nerds at the end when the nerds put on a concert. Fun like that. Interesting concept. 90 minute concert is short in my standards but I guess today people can't give more time. Alot of money for that kind of concert. Could have place many in those slots. Should have taken off the masks at the end and violinist costume could have been more revealing. Needs work all around

  • Worth it

by Ray on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The band sounded great. Terrific renditions of popular songs. Costumes and stage props were cool, too. Well done overall.

  • Fantastic show, with thirsty fans...

by Zsolt on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The show itself was fantastic. The entry process and finding the seats with the help of the staff were very quick and convenient. The only thing that detracted from the experience was the small part of the audience constantly walking in and out for beer during the show, making an entire row stand up repeatedly, blocking the view. I may be strict, but you shouldn't be walking around for beer during the show, you can get through 45 minutes without it. In all, the show was great!

  • Rocktastic!

The Rock Orchestra was everything I had hoped it would be. They sounded incredible and it was an amazing experience to combine my love for rock and metal with my love and experience from band and orchestra. I can't wait to see them again!

  • Amazing performance

by Karla on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Orchestra meets Rock and Roll. I have never experienced such a creative endeavor of music and culture. There will be parts that instrumental but they also have singers. This breaks up the set and brings out energy in the crowd. Don't miss it the next time they are in your town.

  • Awesome Experience!!

    by JayMoney1983 on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The Rock orchestra concert was nothing short of incredible. From the moment the first note hit, the entire venue was electrified. The mix of classical orchestration with the raw power of rock created a sound that was both thunderous and beautiful. It wasn’t just music—it was a full-body experience.

  • Awesome Experience!

    by Sally Y on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

What a great way to experience, rock music in a unique way! I knew all but two songs. It was a beautiful experience and a lot of fun! The young lady who plays the violin is just amazing! She gave me goosebumps! Would highly recommend it to anybody that loves rock music with a twist.

  • Absolutely loved everything but

by Jane doe on 4/7/25Dolby Theatre - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

This show was great. The girl on the violin was absolutely AMAZING!! I would totally recommend it. I would have given it 5 stars but the girl they had singing, they could have done without. She ruined dream on. Other than that, would totally recommend to anyone.

The musicians and singers were amazing and you could clearly see their talent. We loved that it almost seemed that each musical artist got a time to shine.

I really enjoyed this rock orchestra concert! The music sounded great and the lighting effects were mesmerizing. I love the music they played. I would definitely go to another one of their concerts. Very talented group of people!

  • Excellent show

Really loved the orchestra. A different take on some favorite rock songs of old and newer. Their talent is amazing. I did prefer the songs they sang, but I understand an orchestra is typically all instrumental. It was a great mix of songs and we really enjoyed it.

  • So Much Fun!

by Lor on 4/2/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't know what to expect... but WOW! What a great show! Will definitely go again!

  • Great show if you're a rock fan

    by Cakemaker007 on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show all around. Really talented people performing. I thought an hour and a half might be too long but time flew by and it was over too quickly. I also liked that they involved the audience at the end.

  • Fantastic performance!

by Jc on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't know what to expect, but I had a great time! You could tell the musicians on stage were having a fun time, and that made the show that much better! Impressive and fun to watch from start to end.

  • AWESOME!

by Ewa Marie on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Such an amazing show! Beautiful music, amazing performance, and just a really good time overall! If you get a chance to see the Rock Orchestra, do it!

  • Singing absolutely unnecessary

by TLC on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 3 out of 5

Resounding 5 for orchestra!! 1st violin stellar. Trombone almost a show by himself. Amazing rhythm and into the music the whole time. Loved watching him!! Singers/ barkers absolutely unnecessary and complete distraction. None of the goth theatrics were necessary. Masks had to be uncomfortable for musicians and didn’t add anything productive. Made it impersonal & made it harder to connect with the emotion of the music and musicians. Cannot reiterate enough how great the orchestra itself was and how distracting the singing was to the performance.

  • Amazing Instrumentalists

by Mrshoss on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

So very impressed by the talent of those playing the instruments, they were amazing! So much talent. However, the show could have totally done without the vocals. The 2 singers just made it seem like a cover band situation and like they just need to give them a job to do. The show is amazing and even better without singing, the instrumental is definitely enough to make it an amazing show all around.

  • Amazing experience

by Sabine on 3/31/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

This show ROCKED! All of the effects, the instruments oh so good. We can't wait for them to come back. This would be amazing at Red Rocks!!!!
