The Psychedelic Furs scored in the ‘80s when John Hughes featured “Pretty in Pink” in his classic 1986 teen comedy Pretty in Pink, naming his film after The Furs’ song. Led by lead vocalist Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass, the band’s 1981 sophomore album Talk Talk Talk (featuring “Pretty in Pink”) debuted on the Billboard 200. Their follow-up, Forever Now (1982) included the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Love My Way,” a staple of ‘80s Top 40 radio. Their 1987 release Midnight to Midnight because their highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit single “Heartbreak Beat.” The Furs went on hiatus in the ‘90s and reformed in 2000 for a co-headlining tour with The Go-Go’s and B-52’s. In 2017, the band's 1984 song "The Ghost in You" was featured in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

New set list, amazing sax player, never sounded better.
Richard Butler and the rest of the group are as good or if not better than their glory days of the 80's. Butler's the ultimate showman, can't wait to see them when they return to NY in October.
First time we have seen them live, but long lived Furs fan. The show last night in Atlantic City was great.Butler sounded phenomenal and everyone up on stage seemed to be having a good time. We both loved Alive (For Once in My Lifetime) which we had actually never heard before. That song is epic and for the life of me wondering why it never went to the top. I can't complain with the set list but personal favorites you wish you could have heard (notably for us, Highwire Days). Dumb waiters was excellent as well.
I think the band were a bit tired and didn't have the umph to put on a great show. They didn't play many of their hits and were not very friendly with the crowd. Oh well, can't win-em-all.
WELL, IT LOOKED LIKE ALL THE 80'S PUNKS HAD TURNED INTO HEAVY-SET, POLO-SHIRT, CHINO-PANTED PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A NOSTALGIA FIX..........HOWEVER, LUCKY FOR THEM, THE FURS DELIVERED THE GOODS.......RICHARD BUTLER LOOKED IN GREAT SHAPE (AS DID THE WHOLE BAND), AND SOUNDED JUST AS GOOD -- ALTHOUGH HE HAD TO OCCASIONALLY REFER TO CHARTS TO REMEMBER SOME OF THE LYRICS.........THEY PLAYED ALL THE USUAL BIG HITS, BUT I WAS HOPING FOR SOMETHING A TAD MORE OBSCURE, FROM THE EARLY DAYS IN PARTICULAR......I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TO FIND THAT THEY PLAYED , WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 1 OR 2 TUNES, THE ENTIRE TALK-TALK-TALK ALBUM, MY PERSONAL FAVORITE.......THEY NICELY RE-WORKED THE SOUND BY USING ONLY ONE GUITAR, AND BROUGHT THE HORN PLAYER FRONT & CENTER FOR QUITE A FEW SOLOS.........I WILL DEFINITELY ATTEND THE SEPTEMBER H.O.B. SHOW IN SEPTEMBER, AND EXPECT THAT THEY'LL PUMP THE VOLUME !!
What a fantastic place to see a concert. I will definately go here again even though it's a hike from my home. It was wonderful to see that the Psychedelic Furs haven't lost it. They were fantastic.
I was a big fan of the P Furs when I was younger... and I've always enjoyed going back to their music over the years. I had the opportunity to see this show and I was somewhat apprehensive to buy the tickets, mostly because I feared being disappointed by a band that may a shadow of its former self. I'm glad I pushed those concerns aside, because these guys were phenomenal. This was probably one of the most enjoyable shows I've be to, and the band is tight... the new faces in the line-up (particularly Mr. Williams) are amply talented and deliver on call. I've got to say, they sound even better live than on albums. They cranked through a ton of songs, quite a bit of material from Mirror Moves and Talk Talk Talk... they really got into it. I would absolutely see them play again and seeing this show has definitely made me gain a renewed appreciation for their music and musicianship. Just excellent.
as always the Furs were awesome. played all the htis and a number of rarely played songs which was nice for a change. Will continue to see them each year that they tour and will be going to the Show in Philly in October. See ya then Boys :)
As always the Furs were fantastic! Loved the small venue, there wasn't a bad seat in the house. It was a little mellow compared to their other shows because there was no general admission (standing room) near the stage. First come first serve but they had tables instead. But that didn't take away from how they performed! They still have it!
I thought the Furs' show at Patriot Place was awesome. Richard Butler was in good voice and ran through about 20 songs, although with little chatter with the audience. He is a terrific front man. The audience was disappointing in numbers, but not in enthusiasm.
