About

The Pretty Reckless is fronted by singer Taylor Momsen, who was a child actor and model, including notable credits in "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Gossip Girls." Momsen has always insisted that her first love was music, not acting, and, in 2009, Momsen shocked the world when she announced she would leave TV and film. The Pretty Reckless released their debut album, "Light Me Up" (No. 10; U.S. Alt Rock) in 2010 and quickly hit the road, becoming one of rock's busiest bands. The Pretty Reckless was part of the 2010 Warped Tour before headlining The Medicine and Light Me Up Tours respectively. The band is well regarded for its aggressive, live hard rock sound with a concert that often features Momsen singing while wearing dark outfits, heavy makeup and stripper boots. The band will continue to tour Europe extensively to promote their new release, "Going to Hell." Momsen is highly regarded for her talented voice on-stage yet isn't afraid to get dark with her lyrics. Tickets to the upcoming "Going To Hell" tour are expected to be a hot commodity as The Pretty Reckless have developed a strong and faithful following in Europe, despite being together for less than five years.

The band officially formed in 2009, but Momsen had been working on a rock project with Kato Khandwala, who would produce the group's debut album, since 2007. She has cited Joan Jett and Kurt Cobain as personal influences. "Light Me Up" was critically acclaimed and features the lead single, "Make Me Wanna Die" (No. 1 single; UK Rock), in addition to "My Medicine" and "Goin' Down." The band promoted the album heavily with nearly non-stop touring for four years, bringing venues like House of Blues (San Diego) to capacity, while working on a followup -- "Going to Hell." They are one of the more fiery bands when touring.

Parlor Mob + The Pretty Reckless = STELLAR shows!

by SqueebityFlibbus on 4/2/12Newport Music Hall - Columbus

This was one of those shows where you hear the opening band and go "wow." They've got it, and I'm so glad The Pretty Reckless is touring with them. I immediately bought their CD and really love their Nashville style already! Taylor and the boys were great! They've got great stage presence and are really fun. Her music reflects her great charisma and passion for performance and sharing her feelings and emotions. My only critique is that her set honestly wasn't long enough. I felt like 3 more songs or so would have put her at about the minimum for a good length for a show these days. Her music is very much geared towards radio play (3:30 is about how long a song needs to be to become "pop") and so the band whipped through the set list pretty quickly. I'll catch her if she ever comes through town again, and I'll definitely never miss The Parlor Mob if I can help it!

Really great show. Taylor Momsen is awesome, and the Newport is a great venue. They could have used a better sound man, however, and the set was shorter than we expected. Regardless, I would definitely go see them again, we had a great time.

This was the third time I've seen The Pretty Reckless live and it was their best show yet! Saw them first at Skully's, then The Basement, now at The Newport. Best venue for the size of their audience, and their show was polished, on time, and had a great sound. Yay!!!

    Wow

by Vanessa66457 on 1/17/12House of Blues - Atlantic City

I went to see an Evanescence concert, and the Pretty Reckless opened. I wasn't expecting anything fantastic for an opening band, but I was truly blown away. Taylor owned that stage, and the set was truly fantastic. The Pretty Reckless really knows how to rock a crowd.

Pretty Reckless was pretty, but reckless

by OTDinJC on 3/21/11The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

Overall, I thought the band rocked and the show was great; however, there were some problems. The band was scheduled to come on at 9:15 p.m. and play until 10:15 p.m. Instead, they came on at 9:30 p.m. and finished at 10:05 p.m. So, came on late and finished early. There were four or five songs on the band's own setlist that they didn't play. Also, Taylor catered only to throng of girls (mostly teenage) in the audience. And some of us were guys. Yeah, she's hot and also has a great voice, but does she wants to be a rock star or a Spice Girl? Otherwise, you can hear how much overdubbing there is on the record when you see them live, but they are getting better; i.e., less sloppy. Definitely worth seeing and will see them again next time they're in the area.

    A little disappointed...

by MelwayPlace on 3/16/11The Club at Stage AE - Pittsburgh

Both opening acts played LONGER than The Pretty Reckless. TPR didn't even play all of their songs? Taylor was amazing (truly amazing) but it was just really too short. I paid for VIP which said VIP neck pass, t-shirt, etc... didn't get anything. To be honest no one even knew about VIP or had any clue what was going on. Waited in line to get a picture with the band but wasn't allowed to take any pictures while waiting. I'd like to see them again but just them playing everything!

    The Pretty Reckless Rock!

    by Clecle9776 on 3/15/11The Basement - Columbus

The Pretty Reckless sure know how to put on a show. Taylor Momsen may be young, but this young lady can definitely sing and entertain the crowd. I was in the very front and this venue is quite small, so you're right up against the stage and Taylor was wonderful with the crowd. She wasn't afraid to reach out and touch the fans and to invite them up on stage. I wholeheartedly recommend seeing this band. If you like their music, you'll love them live.

This was my first time seeing The Pretty Reckless. Hopefully it will not be the last. It was a great performance. Taylor sounds even better live than on cd. She looked incredible as well. Highly recommend seeing them if you like rock n roll.

Good show, on the short side.

by Mugs4000 on 3/15/11The Club at Stage AE - Pittsburgh

The overall concert was pretty good, both openers were good and the headliner put on a great show it just was really short. I know they only have 1 album out but the least they could have done was played the whole thing it clocks in at under 40 minutes.

by Jmon on 3/15/11The Basement - Columbus

I'm a HUGE Pretty Reckless fan and would like to give 5 stars but I'll give 4 just because it took forever for them to come on and they didn't play as long as I had hoped. They still ROCKED though!!!!! I haven't loved a band this much since STP!

The pretty Reckless left me PRETTY PISSED

by MISSKITTYSMOOCH on 3/13/11The Basement - Columbus

we bought VIP tickets for twice the regular price because we were supposed to have a meet and greet 30 minutes prior to the show. We didnt get in on time and NO MEET AND GREET...from what i hear the band were NEVER told they were even doing a meet and greet. They didnt give us the laminates or tshirts either. Wasnt until the concert started they said it would happen sometime after all the bands had played, but that was overheard, no one bothered to tell anyone anything. So we left without our laminates, t shirt, or even watching the band play and ill NEVER see another show at the basement again, hell maybe period for that matter
