About

The Pretty Reckless is fronted by singer Taylor Momsen, who was a child actor and model, including notable credits in "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Gossip Girls." Momsen has always insisted that her first love was music, not acting, and, in 2009, Momsen shocked the world when she announced she would leave TV and film. The Pretty Reckless released their debut album, "Light Me Up" (No. 10; U.S. Alt Rock) in 2010 and quickly hit the road, becoming one of rock's busiest bands. The Pretty Reckless was part of the 2010 Warped Tour before headlining The Medicine and Light Me Up Tours respectively. The band is well regarded for its aggressive, live hard rock sound with a concert that often features Momsen singing while wearing dark outfits, heavy makeup and stripper boots. The band will continue to tour Europe extensively to promote their new release, "Going to Hell." Momsen is highly regarded for her talented voice on-stage yet isn't afraid to get dark with her lyrics. Tickets to the upcoming "Going To Hell" tour are expected to be a hot commodity as The Pretty Reckless have developed a strong and faithful following in Europe, despite being together for less than five years.

The band officially formed in 2009, but Momsen had been working on a rock project with Kato Khandwala, who would produce the group's debut album, since 2007. She has cited Joan Jett and Kurt Cobain as personal influences. "Light Me Up" was critically acclaimed and features the lead single, "Make Me Wanna Die" (No. 1 single; UK Rock), in addition to "My Medicine" and "Goin' Down." The band promoted the album heavily with nearly non-stop touring for four years, bringing venues like House of Blues (San Diego) to capacity, while working on a followup -- "Going to Hell." They are one of the more fiery bands when touring.

by samster101 on 3/5/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

The show was great! I would recommend it to anyone. The singer Taylor Momsen has such a good voice. All the instrument players played really well, especially the drummer, Jamie. He was awesome! The whole concert was fun and had very high energy. I enjoyed it a lot!

    TPR ROCKS!!!!

by funhouse69 on 3/5/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

I've been looking forward to seeing TPR since I first head about them ages ago. The first song I heard was Zombie on their website and from that moment on I was hooked. Of course it took FOREVER to get their full album released here in the US but in my opinion it was worth the wait. Taylor was almost late to the show due to circumstances beyond her control and said she hadn't slept in 36 hours. Either way she still kicked some serious ass. The opening acts were: A Thousand Horses Good Southern Rock band that rocked and was a good way to start off the night. Runner Runner. Another good band with a lot of energy but didn't seem to grab me as much as A Thousand Horses did but I know that is completely subjective. The Pretty Reckless: What can I say, Taylor and the band didn't disappoint other than maybe not playing all of the songs off their album and a relatively short set list. Taylor had a lot of energy and there were some funny moments on stage with "Squishy" and the sound guy telling the Lead Guitarist that he sounded like $hit :=) I was very sad to see the show end so quickly but all in all I loved it and the only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars was due to the short set list and not playing all of the songs off the album other then that not much bad can be said.

The Pretty Reckless were awesome!! Taylor sounds better live than in the cd and thats a BIG compliment, keep it up! =]. A Thousand Horses were pretty good but Runner Runner...idk how they got a record deal they are really bad and cheesy. Need to stop trying so hard.

    Taylor is Awesome

by Vern1126 on 2/15/11El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

I really enjoyed the concert! The only down was that it took really long between the second band and The Pretty Reckless for stage setup. But on an up, Taylor sounds just as awesome live as she does on her albums! Definilty recommend friends seeing The Pretty Reckless live it was a blast!!!!!

by Mikaluv on 2/14/11El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

So the opening band was pretty good but then runner runner came on stage and a lot of people were unhappy with their performance. Pretty Reckless was outstanding! Taylor rocked that stage, she's gorgeous! Amazing night for everyone I think, totally worth it!

I had the best time ever and if you want a good show then see this one! Runner Runner had gorgeous boys and The Pretty Reckless was awesome! but if you plan on throwing something on stage to give to the pretty reckless then do it at the beginning because she doesnt really say goodnight when the show ends but GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Pretty Reckless put on an AMAZING show! I went with a friend and we waited in line for at least 2-3 hours but it was so worth it! Taylor Momsen is great and the opening bands Runner Runner and A Thousand Horses were surprisingly good too. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone! It was really great!
