The Postal Service Tickets

Death Cab for Cutie and Postal Service... moreso Postal Service, of course, are a classic already that holds up in so many more ways that you would expect. But even Transatlanticism is aging very well and is almost as good. Hearing them both performed live is perfect!

Seeing both bands was a dream unfortunately my partner wasn’t the biggest fan but I don’t care because I enjoyed every second of it! Loved their cover of Enjoy the silence!

Loved the music but my beefs with the seating. The hard wooden seats are so compact that you a broad shouldered individual such as myself cannot sit comfortably. The setting is cool and it feels like you’re immersed in the woods… but again, doesn’t mean much when my attention is continually being drawn to how I feel like a sardine in a can. For the price of the tickets, i would expect nicer seats akin to even a baseball stadium. I don’t really have an interest in coming back due to the seats. Show was great though.

The show was great! I just hate the Hollywood Bowl!

The energy that the postal service brings is really amazing. Within one album there are so many different types of songs which is really incredible. I would immediately buy another set of tickets!

First time seeing Postal Service in concert and I thought I had missed this opportunity when the group disbanded - then they announced this concert. What's better than a Death Cab for Cutie concert? A double dose of Ben when they teamed up with Postal Service for this Anniversary Tour. Delighted I could be part of the energy at the Hollywood Bowl as the tour wrapped!

I can’t believe it happened and I’m still in shock on how it good it was

We came for Iron and Wine and were happy to see postal service, but we were blown away by how beautiful their performance was . it was a really special night.

This was a combined Postal Service/Death Cab for Cutie concert. The total time for music, minus break, was less than 1 hr 45 minutes. It's just as well, because I was bored to tears. Death Cab did not play their biggest hits, which was the primary reason I attended. More important is that the dynamic range of emotions within and across songs and across the two bands was zero (not entirely surprising, since the lead singer is the same across the bands). The lyrics were massively repetitive and as uninspired as the emotional tone of the music. The only redeeming aspect of the concert was the light show, which was reasonably creative given then little emotional range to work with from the music.

Best show I’ve seen all year. I love DCFC and the Postal Service but to see them together was good as it gets. Both bands sounded great and the Hollywood Bowl is always a pleasure.

Quick getting in. Drinks were fast heading in. PIT tix had service in the area so drinks were quick and convenient there too! Was super happy. Got merch right before headliner went on and walked right up. Didn’t miss any of the show! ✌🏻

The show was amazing. I feel lucky to have experienced it. The venue was fabulous.

The Postal Service's set boasted a high-energy performance accompanied by a terrific light show. The sound was great - recreating the vibe of the Give Up album perfectly.

We had so much fun celebrating 20 years since this album was released. They put on a great show! Having it combined with Death Cab for Cutie performing their Transatlanticism album was the icing on top! We loved the venue (Hollywood bowl). The park and ride was very helpful from Torrance to avoid having to drive in traffic. Would definitely return!

They brought their Give Up album alive made me feel nostalgic awesome night

I’ve seen them 4 times, and every show has been amazing. They put a lot of thought into bringing their album “Give Up” to the stage and the energy with then and the audience is invigorating.

What a venue. I've lived in California my entire life and this was my first time at the Bowl. What an incredible venue. Great food options and really great vibe. The only thing I didn't like about the venue is how narrow the rows are and then the parking situation. The band was amazing. They sounded exactly like they did on their CD 20 years ago. Incredible experience!

This is not a critique of Death Cab/TPS at all because I believe this is an issue with how Ticketmaster provides info to ticket holders. For most events the time listed on the ticket is when doors open. I've also had tickets that included the full set time breakdown so I could ensure I was on time for the bands I was there to see. For this show in particular, there were no set times available and the ticket said 7:30pm which to me, and my whole group, meant doors open at 7:30pm. We aimed to be there by 7:30. We checked set times from previous shows at the Bowl as well and saw that Death Cab didn't play until around 9 most nights which was great because traffic was terrible but imagine our surprise when we get into the venue at about 8:30 and have already missed some of their set! It was super disappointing and confusing. We felt a bit mislead by the time stated on the ticket. I don't think folks should have to do hours of internet sleuthing and reddit thread reading to figure out when to arrive at a concert - it would be great if TM simply had a standard for tickets that told customers when doors open and when each act plays.

Never seen the band before and I may have heard one or two songs in the past. Glad I went to the concert! We had so much fun! The band was so energetic and the stage lighting was such an enhancement. The band sounded so much better live than recorded. Fun night!!

The Postal Service was fantastic! Watching/hearing them play live was a dream come true! Ben Gibbard made my dream come true. Death Cab for Cutie was awesome, too, as usual! Thank you Ben and Jenny!
