The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields. The long-running stage play opens on the fictional Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s production of The Murder at Haversham Manor — a 1920s-era murder mystery. But even before the curtain rises, things are amiss, and as the show goes on, a series of increasingly catastrophic mishaps, gaffes and failures turn the show into a gut-busting laughfest of disastrous proportions. After running on Broadway from 2017 to 2019, The Play That Goes Wrong has continued Off-Broadway at New World Stages.
