  • Fabulous

I can’t say enough about how much I and my sister enjoyed the concert. It was a Mother’s Day gift for her and it could not have been better. The guest conductor, the guest cellist and Hudson Valley philharmonic where amazing. They brought such joy and passion to their performances. It was a truly remarkable evening.

  • Took me into Space!

The HVP led by conductor Andres Raphael performed Gustav Holtz’s magnificent suites ‘The Planets’ and most certainly were up to the task! I’ve had the privilege of seeing this performed at Lincoln Center by NYPhil and that was spectacular! HVP did no less although with slightly fewer instruments and yet delivered a thoroughly terrific 5 star performance! I known this music note for note by heart and this missed nothing with a full and beautifully played presentation! I’d gladly pay to see again in the near future! There was also a wonderfully produced film for each of the planets that perfectly accompanied each of the seven suites! The concert opened with two wonderful pieces by Dvorak and Tchaikovsky and were richly performed as well! It was a wonderful evening of rich and memorable performances of what is to me one of the greatest compositions in music! Thank you Gustav Holst! Thank you HVP! Thank you Maestro Raphael! Thank you magnificent Bardavon Theater!

  • The Hudson Valley Philharmonic Rocks !

Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Holst and deep space telescope imagery - a combination that can't be beat and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic (HVP) conducted by Andre Raphel rendered it beautifully. Telescope imagery from Hubble and other scopes during "The Planets" was a cherry on top of some incredibly-played music. We are now fans of HVP and will chant "H.V.P." along with everyone else when the musicians take their seats at future concerts. I'm a Rock n Roller and if you're a fan of Prog (a la Yes, Genesis and ELP), then rush right out and get tickets !
