THE OFFSPRING IN CONCERT:
One of the most famous punk bands of all time, The Offspring are still igniting audiences with their explosive live shows. In concert the band delivers impassioned performances of audience favorites like “Come Out and Play”, “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)”, and “Gone Away”. With spitfire drums, catchy basslines, and distorted guitars, the band blasts their way through their songs with an adrenaline-fueled blend of polished musicianship and devil-may-care attitude. Coming off their hugely successful Smash: 20th Anniversary Tour, the group is keeping their hot streak alive by bringing their incendiary live shows to audiences around the world.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Offspring formed in 1986 in Huntington Beach, CA with original members Dexter Holland (vocals/guitar), Greg K. (bass), and Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman (lead guitar). Behind the strength of hit singles “Come Out and Play”, “Self Esteem”, and “Gotta Get Away” the band’s 1994 breakthrough album Smash launched them to international superstardom. They followed up in 1997 with the platinum-certified Ixnay on the Hombre, adding the hits “All I Want” and “Gone Away” to their impressive catalog. Their eclectic 1998 album Americana proved that they were one of the era’s most potent and versatile hit-making machines with the serious tone of megahit “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, which stood in stark contrast to humorous singles like “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job”. Since then the band has continued to record and release material, including the double-platinum Conspiracy of One in 2000. While working on a follow up to their 2012 album Days Go By, The Offspring continues to bring their music to legions of fans worldwide.
The band's performance and energy was incredible - they played a great mix of old and new favorites.
I've always liked Dropkick, but seeing them live was so totally worth it. I couldn't have been happier with their performance especially when they came out for an encore. As for The Offspring, what can I say? I'm a diehard fan and I was completely satisfied. Their stage performance and entertaining qualities surpassed everything I was expecting. Now that I think of it I don't even know what I was expecting from the amazing show I saw last night!
Opener was great, Dropkick Murphy's ok. (too loud & distorted) Offspring, way better than 5 years ago @ Hamerstien Ballroom. Lots of energy! Great mix of old & new songs. Been a fan for 25years.
Good show! Wish the Offspring had played longer, but it was still a great set!
the songs were great, the band was exciting and the venue was cool. what more could u ask for?
not impressed. Didn't have a good time.....................................................................................................................................................
Dropkick Murphys KILLED it! Offspring was good too, but DKM really gets into the crowd and make it personable. GREAT show.
I wasn't too excited about Dextar's vocals but the show was still amazing.
This concert was an unbelievable experience!!! They played just about ALL of their hits and had the crowd rockin'! Their special effects were great. Lots of color and each went right along with the appropriate song! We will definitely see them again. They are worth every penny!! The rain didn't stop the crowd from jammin'!!!
This was the first concert we brought our kids to, and it was a great choice! They sang all our favorite songs and made jokes the whole time. It was amazing!
Dropkick Murphy's and the other openning act were amazing....and Offspring did not disappoint. The CMAC setting was perfect for a high energy start to the summer !!
Love the Dropkick's so whether The Offspring even showed up didn't matter to me, but I have to admit, The Offspring were great. Not at any time did my attention wander to look at the time. I really liked the offspring! They really are a great band. Also, the Dropkick's are just a great band! Those guys rock! Lastly, there was an old guy up in the expensive seats that had his hands over his ears most of the night...funny. Note to the old guy: Rock bands are loud, don't come unless you WANT your ears blown out!
Cool show - Great light show - CMAC - very nice venue - neat, clean, orderly parking. The band showed TONS of energy - got the crowd involved. This was the first time I had seen The Offspring - would go see them again tomorrow!!!
I have been to a lot of concerts and The Offspring was the best I've been to. They played their best songs; a great mix of older & newer songs. They really got the crowd into the show and you can tell that they still love to rock! I can't wait to see them again.
The show was really great. Both Offspring and Dropkick Murphy were awesome
This show was definitely worth their four year wait before they toured in the states again. Definitely one of my all time favorite bands and I finally got to see them live. They were very good!! The only thing that I did not like was that they only played for about an hour and a half and played pretty much straight through their set, including their encore. But the show was that good that those details are rather minor. I loved how they came out and rocked their first four songs really hard and then they kind of talked to the audience a bit before playing walla walla and played the next three songs straight through. Dexter did look like he was gaining weight and noodles looked like he had a lot of gray hair. I liked the new drummer a lot and overall it was a very good show!!!
The Dropkick Murphys were fantastic! Offspring was amazing! So glad i went!! it rained a bit but it was so very worth it!!!
I listened to The Offspring when I was yonger back in the nineties, but they were never one of my favorite bands. Not knowing what to expect, I ended up thinkin they put on a great show. I liked that they played older songs. Also, they sounded great.
