  • Great Show!

Amazing show. The level of detail is impressive They need to play larger venues. Cant wait for the next show..

I thought that each band member did an exceptionally good job in playing their instruments as well as looking like the original members of Genesis at the time. Their sound was great, not as tight as an original album, but come on, would Genesis be tight either back then? I saw The Musical Box 15 years ago (Black/White tour of the Genesis Live show) and flew in from North Carolina to check them out. Would do it again

  • The Musical Box - Excellent!

by Rubenesqueme on 11/25/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 4 out of 5

Except for the 2 microphone gliches and the 9 guys in the row in front of us who couldn't stay in their seats or stop talkiing - it was an otherwise great concert.

  • The Lamb was run down on Broadway

    by Churchmouse1 on 11/24/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 3 out of 5

Overall it was a memorable performance by the Musical Box ( my third tour re-creation). Unfortunately the whole evening was plauged with audio troubles. The vocals cut out completely several times, throughout the whole Lamb they were unintelligible, lost in the mix. Unfortunate since the singer has to work very hard and has a very tough job to do. It seemed there was a different level at every mike location the singer used. We could never hear the flute parts. I know nearly every lyric for the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, if I didn't I would have been as lost as the friends we took along who had never heard Genesis before. The encores were the best part of the evening. It seemed the group knew them the best and the sound was finally under control. It lacked the luster of the other tours I've seen replicated, but it may have been the way the original show was constructed.

  • The Musical Box recreates the Lamb Lies Down

by hockeyben on 11/24/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 4 out of 5

great musicians and terrific recreation of the Lamb Lies Down. Unfortunately the acoustics in the Keswick theatre and from the band was not the best

  • Not as good as last time around

by KurtVonnegut on 11/23/11Wilbur Theater - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Whoa, I was surprised to read that there were problems with the mic on the lead vocals at other venues! The Boston show was no different. WTF? One of the best parts of this show is the lyrics and you could not hear them very well. Fire the sound guy/girl? Also - no swirling tunnel like thing descending from the ceiling like last time. I was ready to say I would never see this band again but the encores - Musical Box and Watcher Of The Skies -were awesome and made me happy that I was there. I would go see a Trespass / Nursery Crime/ Foxtrot era show if they return but I doubt it.

  • Just a little bit of IT

    by Soit78 on 11/23/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 4 out of 5

This is the third time i have seen the Musical box and they never fail to impress me and leave me wishing I had seen the original back then but alas i would have 14 years old and my parents would not have let me go..I digress back to the Keswick and the MB, please do yourself a favor if you a Genesis fan as I am of the band through all their iterations but especially of the Gabriel years please do go see the Musical Box. This night the did the 1974 version of the 'The Lamb Lies down on Broadway" including the stage theatrics and the band is tight and right on musically. They had a few glitches with sound and pyros which kept me from giving them 5 stars but really was a 4.5. The followed the full LLDOB with two encores "The Musical Box' and 'Watcher of the Skies" in full regalia.

  • Musical Box - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

    by skibum111 on 11/22/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show! There was a minor glitch with the microphone, at which point the audience supplied the missing words.

Great show. This band is the RAEL deal. Go see the way the Lamb was originally performed. You won't be disapointed.

  • Incredible show!!!!

by Anonymous on 11/21/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, just WOW... The Musical Box may have just been the BEST tribute band I ever saw! And certainly the only Genesis tribute band worth seeing! Amazing visual effects and costumes, and at some points during the show, I almost forgot it wasn't actually Genesis.. Hearing them play "The Lamb Lies on Broadway" was great, I can't till they tour again when I can hear them play other Genesis albums! If you are even the slightest Genesis fan, old stuff or new stuff, this is NOT a show to miss!

I loved every minute of this show! This is the third time I've seen The Musical Box, 2nd time at this venue, and it was everything I expected and more. Just fantastic from the first piano intro to the end of the show.

When you see The Musical Box perform it's like taking a trip back in time to watch Genesis, Unbelievable!!!!!

  • Band was fantastic; the Keswick Theater sucked.

by JamesfromMaryland on 11/21/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

First time I've seen The Musical Box, and they were impressive. The lead singer sounds just like Gabriel and the rest of the band looked like Genesis c. 1974. Save for a minor technical glitch early in the show, they sounded great. However, my enjoyment of the concert was marred by the venue. There are no doors that separate the lobby from the seating and the noise from people hanging out at the concession stand during the concert detracted from the experience. Would never return to the Keswick because of this.

  • Lamb Lies Down on Broadway took me back!

by Anonymous on 11/21/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I've seen Musical Box, first time I've seen them doing Lamb. I saw the original show in Dec. 1974 and loved it. This was as true to the original as I remember. The vocalist is no Peter Gabriel, but then again, no one is. The musicians are top notch and they play the instrumental portions as well as Genesis. The stage was set up nicely and they even did the same encore songs as originally done.

  • The Musical Box: Like going back in time!

by Doctordew on 11/21/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

The Lamb lies down on Broadway was a trip back in time. The sound was very accurate.
