THE MACHINE IN CONCERT:

As one of America's oldest Pink Floyd tribute bands, the Machine have spent more than 25 years honing their craft, and it's paid off -- Spin magazine confirms that they sound "exactly like Pink Floyd." Combining elaborate stage design, a state-of-the-art light and laser show, and end-to-end performances of seminal albums like Dark Side of the Moon, the band faithfully recreates Pink Floyd's legendary live shows in painstakingly brilliant detail. Fans looking for a dose of the Floyd are sure to be "Comfortably Numb" as they soak in the Machine's epic performances on their 2014 tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in the late-'80s, New York-based the Machine arose out of its members' desire to pay homage to their idols in Pink Floyd. Over their years, their dedication and hard work saw them graduate from small bars and clubs to sold-out shows around the world, including festivals like Bonnaroo and Germany's Rock of Ages. With a knowledge of Pink Floyd's catalog that rivals that of the most rigorous Floyd historian, the Machine is known for playing the Floyd's classic hits alongside obscure cuts from darkest corners of their expansive discography. Back on tour in 2014, the band will once again recreate the legendary band's epic stage show with elaborate set designs, state-of-the-art audiovisuals, and marathon sets.

Machine playing like a well oiled???

by PhloydPhan on 2/13/17Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Bank sounded much better than a year ago, when the transition of members was still fresh. This is our fourth time seeing the band, at Scottish Rite in Collingswood NJ. I wish they would do Great Gig in Sky again. Hadn't heard that from them last 3 shows. This band performs as well or better than Brit Floyd and is so much more intimate.

This is the 4th time I have seen this group and if you are a Pink Floyd fan, you will LOVE it! They sound great and Tahra the drummer is amazing to watch! I will be going the next time they come around! They played Pigs and sounded so good. Different tunes every time they come around.

The Machine blew the roof off.

by Dudeupfront on 12/30/16B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

This band is the best live group I have seen in the last 3 years. And I have seen many that includes names like Benetar, Etheridge, A. Wilson. They are as entertaining as anyone. They are greatness undiscovered. WOW!

The Machine rocks Floyd at BB Kings

by Justabluesfan on 12/30/16B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

Second time we've seen The Machine at BB Kings. Yes, they really sound like Pink Floyd and rocked the club. The band sounded great and was tighter and had better sound quality than the previous show. Special shout out to the drummer (Tara) who had a particularly good night. Show opened with Pigs on the Wing and led in to Dogs (my personal favorite). Playlist included Have a Cigar, Wish You Were Here, Dogs, Pigs, and an excellent really groovy deep cut of Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun from Saucer Full of Secrets. Of course there were the usual radio friendly cuts from The Wall (not a fan) but I understand why they play them. The band closed the show with One of These Days from Meddle which is an album that I love but hard to play live. All in all a really fun show but the second time we have not heard Welcome to the Machine... ironic.

    The Machine! Awesome Live!

by TheSaint on 11/15/16NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I would have given five stars but for two minor reasons, one the band,I felt should have opened with the song The Machine but maybe they had in the past and grew tired of performing that song? Secondly and not in anyway connected with the actual performance we were seated in a section with many people getting up and down constantly during the performance. It seems that the venue employees quite a number of personnel when you arrive but they quickly diassppear shortly after the show begins. Two of the patrons near our seats (a multi 4 pack) were very rude and noisey and loud and well as drunk and were standing up during most of the show yelling at the top of their drunk lungs for the band to make it louder! A common symptom of a drunk person!

    Awesome

by Younks on 8/11/16Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

This was hands down one of the best cover bands around. If you closed your eyes and just open your ears you will be transported back to when Gilmore and Waters were playing together again. Simply Awesome!!!!

They are the greatest cover band I've seen for any

by RayRi on 7/19/16Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

I actually saw Pink Floyd in 1975 and 1977 at the Boston garden, those concerts are my favorite show of all time and I have seen many great bands from the sixties and seventies era. The machine put on such a great performance that it actually sent shivers up my spine, reliving the Pink Floyd concerts I had seen. Tahrah is fantastic on the drums. I'm in love with her!! I wish they had played Echoes. This is the second time I've seen them the first was at Lowell. I am going to travel to Stafford mountain on August 13th to see them again/

    Machine delivers

by TedPurcell on 7/18/16Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

Joe's vocals started with a poor mix but after that things cranked. Nice mix of old Floyd that us hardcores know (lucifer Sam and Julia Dream) and more popular (wall, dark side and wish you were bere). The rendition of Dogs from animals was awesome. Love it when Ryan plays guitar and Scott's keyboard improv is nice. We like thier shows when they add a sax and female vocalist! Great stuff as usual. Blue Ocean is a great venue.

    Awesome band, horrible venue

by Janco21 on 6/13/16The Yard at TopGolf Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The band itself was amazing and I would highly recommend them and would love to see them again! The venue on the other hand was greatly lacking! When I purchased the tickets, the "arena" was not available to be seen so thankfully I purchased general admission tickets. There was no arena but just a stage with about 8 tall bar tables and the rest were picnic benches. Maye if I were going to see an acoustic performance or something this would have been quaint... I was personally hoping for the laser show and some great music. The music was great, just not the right venue! There was NO AC, (was informed that it was broken) and a bucket of 6 beers was $44! There was no room and people were actually sitting on the floor to watch the show. The tickets clearly stated seat #'s. Most of the seats were already taken by people waiting to hit golf balls. ANYONE could have walked in to watch the show without paying as the venue was wide open to everyone to enjoy.

    NOT THE SAME!

by Mamadilly on 3/30/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Seen The Machine about a year ago and was by far the best concert ever. If you closed your eyes, each song was perfect (vocals & music!). But now with the new lead guitar/singer, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. Decent guitarist but vocals not even close! He just didn't give the "heart and soul" to each of the songs. Couldn't believe the encore was a "rare old song" which was a depressing dull song. An encore should be the best song which leaves the audience wanting more. Very few songs from everyone's favorite; The Wall and the few they did just didn't cut it. Couldn't wait to see The Machine again, but the 2nd visit ruined my perfect memory of the best concert ever! Would never go back unless they do major changes.

6th "Machine" show I've seen in the past 2 years. These four outstanding musicians are not only a Tribute to Pink Floyd but an overwhelming experience in musical ability!

    Change in lineup disappoints

by PhloydPhan on 2/16/16Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Its not the same Machine. New member, lead guitarist and singer, great on guitar but not great on vocals and electricity. Band just does not seem to be grooving band it was. I think this was my fifth time seeing The Machine. I'm not sure what transpired to result in line up change. I'm not sure I'll be back as fan, after going to every local show I could for past couple of years.

The Machine, always a good show

by meatpocket on 2/15/16Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

This was my 7th time seeing The Machine and they always put on a good show. Musicianship and vocals are fantastic. Good to see the original guitarist and lead vocal back in the group. Hope to see them in Ocean City, NJ again this summer. The Scottish Rite is a great place to see a concert. Except that they switched from serving Yuengling to Flying Fish beer and it was nasty.
