The opening bands were both enjoyable but this Lemonheads show will go down as one of the worst Iâve ever seen. Just say no kids.
Could not understand the lead singer, no encore, took forever for them to take the stage.
Got in easily and LH started right on time, they were good tho Evan seemed out of it at times, but the did a great job with It's a shame about Ray'....sounded good đ¸đ¸
After waiting nearly 2.5 hours to see the Lemonheads (Evan Dando) come on, we were greeted with a musician who clearly is struggling with his demons again. Iâm not sure Evan knew what planet he was on this night. He was definitely on something, and couldnât carry a tune and could barely play the guitar. Having not seen Evan for nearly 15 years, I was so excited for this show. My excitement quickly manifested into disappointment and we left after 3 songs. Not the way I want to remember these songs or this artist. Good thing it was only $25.
Evan has definitely relapsed, I had to leave after a few songs. Openers were great.
I actually got on a plane to go and see this show, and from the first note you knew something was wrong. Evan was simply out of it...distracted, manic, something. Vocally awful....just awful. Otherwise sloppy all around. The other two band members looked like they were just trying to survive and get out of there. On Evan's part, when he wasn't offering unintelligible gibberish between songs he was constantly tinkering with amps, pedals, mic stands, tuning, picks, etc, etc....endlessly. As if there was no preparation that a show was coming. Has the whole tour been like this? Two final things....don't take my word for it....but the venue had about 1/3 of the starting audience at the bitter end. And, whoever manages the lemonheads instagram account will delete negative comments or entire posts that have accumulated some discussion on this point. I love the lemonheads and their catalogue...I hope the people around Evan will help him out. But that was a terrible disappointment.
Had to leave after 10 minutes and three songs into the Lemonheadsâ set because of how bad it was. Even sadder is that we stuck it out longer than a handful of other people who left before us AND throughout the night, saw a mass exodus of people who didnât stay much longer after we left. Super disappointed.
Itâs hard to be artist, especially these days. But if youâre going to go out on tour people expect you to give them at least a minimum attempt. This was a train wreck, couldnât perform or remember their songs. Seemed like he showed up drunk or heavy under the influence and didnât seem to have any interest in putting together a decent performance. Obviously didnât put any effort into touring. I get it time will take your voice, and I like most people will give that a pass. But you canât just show up, fumble thru, not know your own songs, wing it and generally appear to not care. Many people walked out. Overall a poor performance. Iâm sure the venue management was pissedâŚ
We stayed an hour and they didn't play the album they were supposed to. Huge waste of time and money, super disappointed.
venue was good . 2cd opening act were terific - Bass Drum of Death. Lemonheads were great - but few ups and downs. 1s couple of song sucked because the guitar he uses was BAD. then they were good, but not great. Maybe its because I don't see many live bands and more, but they sounded 'not so hot' for about 1/2 of songs. Overall I give show a B+. venue - good / bar - good / staff - good / sound - wish was better.
Ive heard Dando wrestles with substance abuse issues, and that might explain the general sloppiness of this performance. In particular the solo/acoustic break in the middle felt like open mic at the VFW. Once they got to performing "...Ray," things tightened up a bit, but for us it was too little too late. Caught the first half of the album and split. His voice sounded great, though
Evanâs still got it! Lemonheads rocked, and the opening actsâ Hey Rocco, Reagan Catsâ were also solid. Bâmore Soundstage is a good venue.
The band was great! His voice was wonderful and he sang some new stuff as well as their âbest ofâ crowd favorites. The venue was pretty intimate. A good time was had by all!
First time seeing them live, and I was not disappointed. Only warning, if you don't like your ears bleeding you might bring ear plugs...
We have been seeing Evan play for over 25 years and he is only getting better. What a fun show! He played a little bit of everything with some Lemonheads classics. He had us smiling, singing and dancing all night long...Come back!
While I was surprised at how poor the sound system at the Paradise was Saturday night, that didn't stop Evan Dando from rocking the place. Last time I'd seen him, he showed up very late, looked more than a little rough around the edges, mumbled his way through 4-5 songs, then split. So seeing him smiling, laughing, chatting with the audience and even - are you ready? - dancing a little was pretty freaking awesome. He and the latest version of the Lemonheads blasted their way through a ton of songs, all of them energetic. He played for about 90 minutes. It was wonderful to behold. That being said, I had also been curious to see Tommy Stinson's set, and was pretty disappointed in it. Lots of yelling - including at the audience - and more use of the "f" word than an entire Chris Rock standup routine. The Restless Age, who opened the show, were pretty good, and did a very entertaining set.
The foundry is an excellent venue for a concert. Weâve been to The Fillmore and have also loved it. This was our first concert in the Foundry. The Lemonheads were flat, the sound was too loud and we waited about 45 minutes between the openers and the Lemonheads. I would not recommend going to a Lemonheads concert.
Excellent performance. Enjoyed the small venue, too. The $20 price tag for the concert week special was sweet!
The tickets downloaded to my phone were easy to use. Great venue and the Lemonheads were on fire.
