The Last Rockstars on Tour

Four staples from the Japanese rock scene are joining forces to take the world by storm with The Last Rockstars. Members Yoshiki, Hyde, Sugizo, and Miyavi have such influence in the J-Rock scene that after premiering just two songs, the group announced an international tour. Spanning across Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles, The Last Rockstars Live Debut 2023 tour is already sold out across the four Tokyo shows and both American stops with an additional show at the New York Hammerstein Ballroom added due to high demand. In December 2022, the super group released their first single "THE LAST ROCKSTARS (Paris Mix)" via Ingrooves Music Group and immediately shot up to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Rock and All Genres charts in Japan. The song helped set the tone for what will assuredly be a high-energy, upbeat and emotional live show experience. A few weeks later in January of 2023, The Last Rockstars released a music video for the song, which skyrocketed to over a million views on YouTube within the first three days.

The Last Rockstars Live in Concert

Leading the band from the drums and piano is Yoshiki, a Japanese rock icon who previously led X Japan. During his time with X Japan, Yoshiki performed on some of the biggest stages in the world, such as Coachellal, Madison Square Garden and Wembley Arena. Along with his achievements with X Japan, Yoshiki was also a member of S.K.I.N. and has composed Hollywood film soundtracks as well as being awarded the Medal of Honor from the Japanese Government for his philanthropy. Covering vocals for the group is Hyde -- an internationally recognized vocalist for L'Arc-en-Ciel, and Vamps, with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide -- who has headlined shows at Madison Square Garden. Hyde has also seen success as a solo artist and has toured internationally as a solo act. On guitar is Sugizo, who was also a member of X Japan but also played with Luna Sea. Sugizo is also known for writing trance and psy trance, a genre of electronic dance music, as a member of the group Juno Reactor. Also on guitar is Miyavi, known for his "finger-slap" style of playing guitar for Dué le Quartz and S.K.I.N. with Yoshiki. Not only is he known for his music talents, but Miyavi has also appeared in the hit films Unbroken, Kong: Skull Island and Stray.

    My Best Experience EVER

by Ophelia on 2/6/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I’m a big fan of HYDE(the vocal) for more than 10 years. Before the show, I was a little bit worried about my immersion experience since I don’t know other people’s songs. The truth is don’t overthink that. They all knew how to mobilize their audience, and made everybody become a rockstar in these two nights. They are REAL ROCKSTARS! Stunning! LOVE all of them!

    Amazing

by Carissa on 2/6/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

For only having been together for two months, and not even playing together that long, you'd never know! The chemistry between the band members is out of this world working super well together. You could tell they were having fun on stage with the crowd. I didnt even know all of the songs but I enjoyed ALL of them, even wanting to hear the originals. Loved the show so much I saw it twice! I couldnt get enough.

    Not so nice.

by MickeyMonkey on 2/6/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

At the end of the concert, we did not get a chance to even look at the merchandises that you were selling. Securities at the door just wanted us to get out shouting “ Get out !! Get out !! “. That was not a good experience at all.

I’m a huge fan of Hyde, but I wasn’t that at familiar with the other guys in this Supergroup. I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the idea of unity and love that was expressed throughout the show. Everything was so professional about it- the lighting and sound were phenomenal and the Hammerstein staff and security were so friendly! Thank you for providing water to us in the front row too! An absolute Fantastic experience all around! A+

    Over Produced

    by M. B. on 2/3/23

Only good thing about them they have good stage presence. They play off a backing track they don't have a bassist. Too much over produced sound and it drowns out the instruments.
