About

THE KILLS IN CONCERT:

Indie duo The Kills let fans know what theyíre all about from the second they take the stage clad in leather jackets: theyíre ready to kick out their lo-fi tunes with a dangerous edge and tons of rock ëní roll swagger. Sneering frontwoman Alison Mosshart oozes pure mojo as she pounds out power chords and whispers her seductive vocals into the microphone. Guitarist Jamie Hince jumps in to deliver cutting lead lines while dancing around and conjuring bizarre sound effects from his overdriven amplifiers. They combine these hard-hitting elements with robotic drum machines to drive explosive rockers like ìNo Wowî and ìTape Songî with an insistent groove. But they can also slow the tempo on ballads like ìBlack Balloonî and ìRodeo Townî to add a melancholy bent without losing their riveting edge. In either case, each rough-and-tumble gem The Kills play on stage will leave ticket buyers breathless and begging for more.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singer/guitarist Alison Mosshart first caught guitarist Jamie Hince playing a solo show when she was touring England in 2000 with her Florida-based punk band Discount. The two traded ideas through the mail for a couple years before Mosshart relocated to London in 2002 and the duo released their debut EP Black Rooster. The Kills built on the EPís success the following year with their first full-length album Keep on Your Mean Side. The unique lo-fi sound of the group caught the attention of The Raconteurs frontman Jack White, who invited them on tour. The increased exposure helped them become indie darlings with the release of critically adored albums like No Wow (2005) and Midnight Boom (2008). Both members continue to split their time between The Kills and side projects, such as Mosshartís collaboration with Jack White in The Dead Weather. But fans remain eager to see what thrilling new sounds The Kills cook up both at their raucous live shows and on their highly anticipated fifth album.

    Alison is amazing

by Frank da Tank on 3/15/24The Van Buren - Phoenix

The Kills were absolutely amazing! The chemistry between the two is like no other. They are like twins that can communicate without words. Alison is hands down the most bad ass female rockstar in the world. Go see this show if they play anywhere you can get to.

    Poor sound quality

by Wmod on 3/12/24House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Love the vocals by The Kills, but unfortunately they were drowned out by the instrumentals. Vocal quality was so distorted I couldn’t understand them between songs. Sound quality from the opening band was much better. A lot of the instrumentals were too loud/distorted as well

Great show at House of Blues

by ArredondoGirl on 3/12/24House of Blues Houston - Houston

Love shows at the House of Blues Houston. Great venue and the Kills and opening band, Heartworms, were fabulous! Got seats on row C but over to the side and they were not great, somewhat obstructed. Sad for the band, but lucky for us , there were lots of open seats to we were about to move closer to the center!

by Linds on 3/10/24House of Blues Houston - Houston

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen The Kills but every time their show is better than their last. Hands down one of the best rock shows around!

    Awesome

by RL on 3/10/24House of Blues Houston - Houston

The Heartworms were a very good opening act. The Kills are always on point. I could have done that for hours more easily. Hince is a straight guitar-genius. Mosshart is the greatest front-woman of all time hands down.

    Killed it again!

by Tim on 3/4/249:30 CLUB - Washington

The Kills' March 1st, 2024 show at the 9:30 Club in DC showed once again that this is one of the best live acts out there. Alison and Jaime played through most of the new album, God Games, as well as many standards from their 22 year career together. I've seen them live several times now, and they always bring the goods.

    Really good vibes

by Redbeard on 3/2/249:30 CLUB - Washington

DC might have some very stiff crowds but at least a few people got into dancing with this band playing. I had a lot of fun just vibing by myself I saw lots of people with their parents too which I thought was cool. 930 Club has a special energy that is not your typical grimy venue almost feels like a community. The Kills match that energy perfectly.

The 9:30 Club is the best venue in the world, and The Kills rocked it. Really enjoyed the show.

    Too Slow

    by Lotus22 on 2/20/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

I’ve seen the kills before and listen to them on the regular. They seemed like they were playing dat night jams instead of a fun rock show that I was hoping for. I still bought a t-shirt but might next time I might just wait till the live show comes out on YouTube to watch it instead of spending money on a ticket

Amazing concert, end of show rush.

by Middleaged concert goer on 2/19/24Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

Hi just wanted to say that I love St. Andrews!! Concert was great. A thing that seems to happen at the end of shows at some venues not just st. Andrews is the security staff starting to push ppl out the door 10 seconds after the lights come up. No one on staff was rude or did anything wrong. Couple things on this topic. #1 there is a single door to get out of st Andrews. If the entire occupancy of the club has to vacate it will take some time. Security absolutely insisting people push their way towards the exit immediately is actually not really very safe and it also means there is not much time to enjoy what you just experienced. Plus if ppl up front are trying to get setlists, or items signed by the band this is now a potential confrontation with security over a part of the experience that is huge to fans. We paid for the whole experience and part of the beauty of a venue like st Andrews is that you stand a pretty good shot of actually connecting with the band. So maybe think about your after show experience and what it’s like for fans to be rushed out the door.

    Emoting all night

by Monty on 2/13/24Summit - Denver

The duo emote every word and note of every song. Alison is a force onstage making it impossible not to drawn in to the emotion.

    Amazing rock show!

by DoubleA on 2/13/24Summit - Denver

I've been a fan of The Kills for quite a while, but had never seen them live before this show. They rocked so hard, were clearly having fun and engaging with the crowd, and absolutely crushed it! If you like them even a little bit, you should jump at any chance you have to see them live!
