About

What started as the RPM Gold Leaf Awards in 1964 by RPM editor and publisher Walt Grealis and record label executive Stan Klees, soon became The JUNO Awards in 1971. Named in tribute to Pierre Juneau, the first chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the JUNO Awards were founded to raise the public profile and recognition of musical artists in Canada.

The JUNO Awards has evolved from an industry awards event to a weeklong festival that travels city to city across the country. It encompasses both public-facing fan events and industry/networking opportunities featuring a diverse array of Canadian artists and emerging talent. In addition to The JUNO Awards Broadcast, JUNO Week event programming includes JUNO Songwriters' Circle, JUNOfest, JUNO Fan Fare, JUNO Cup, and more.

In 2002, The JUNO Awards went on the road to take the music to the fans and expanded its scope to include a series of public and private events outside of the Awards broadcast. Each host city has embraced their opportunity to support the JUNO Awards and build an enduring legacy of music programs in their market.

    Amazing show!

by Faris on 5/18/22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The venue was perfect - size, acoustics, food and drinks layout - the artists came to perform like it was their personal concert - no complaints from me or my date…

by Marky Mark on 5/18/22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Terrible way to end the show. NO SEND OFF, no host saying "Thank you good night" everyone I came across said "That was it?" Many people were left confused by the weird ending Bring more A list Canadian talent next time

    Fantastic show!

by Angie Pangie on 5/18/22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This was my first time attending the Junos. It will not be my last. Loved every second of it. It felt more like a concert than a show. Great idea having it at Budweiser stage. Perfect evening for it as well! The host Sinu Liu was charming and funny. It was a great flow and I was exposed to some great Canadian artists that I will now be putting on my playlist Overall a great experience

The show was good, the commercial breaks suck

    by Vardar27 on 3/28/18Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The performers were great, the producer who tried to fill in the commercial breaks was boring to dead, why they don't put some rising bands to to play in the commercial breaks for viewers who paid tickets to watch the show?

Worst show I have EVER gone to in my life !!!

by MetallicaRocker on 3/28/18Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I have NO words that can properly show how deep my level of discust for this show. I will never get that time back that I wasted going to it. Over priced, bad sound, seat fillers getting on everyone’s last nerve, mans the list goes on forever. I only wish I could change time and NEVER have gone through what I did at this show !!!!!!!!!

    The Juno Awards were spectacular!

by Weathermama2 on 4/5/17Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

This was one of the best Juno Awards that I have attended. Russell Peters was a great host, and the musical performers were some of the best.

Burton Cummings: Highlight of the Junos

    by mel777 on 4/7/16Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Fantastic production. Lots of great Canadian Music artists, but for me, the evening's highlight was Burton Cummings, his closing song, and especially his induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. It was interesting to see other artists sing a couple of his songs in tribute before he and his band closed the show with "My Own Way to Rock." Fantastic! Someone said the Junos had never seen such a long and loud ovation as when Burton was introduced for the induction ceremony. Thanks to Canada for sharing Burton with us in the U.S. A truly great rock artist. If you have a chance to see his show anywhere, my vote is: Don't miss it!

It turned out to be a lot more fun than I was expecting. I actually only bought the tickets to go see The Weeknd, and truly enjoyed the entire show.
