Opened for Maggie Rogers at Merriweather Post, familiar with name but not music, now an avid fan.... Vocals were clear and beautifully performed, really nice song writing and delivered from the heart, you want to know this person... Absolutely able to give a full length performance, catch them before they hit the mega venues, cuz they will be headliners in the next year... Kudos to Maggie for having them during parts of her tour, they inspire her to come out with full force cuz it would be easy to be upstaged by the quality of their show....
The Japanese House put on a good performance but the bass was way over the top, drowning out the vocals and the other instruments. Really took away from my enjoyment.
The opener, the sound, the production, the musicianship. 10/10 show!
The venue was great, and the music/sound was great. I am a new fan of Japanese House and was really looking forward to seeing them. But they didn’t share anything about the songs that they performed. I was hoping to get to know the meaning behind the group and the songs, and get to know them in general. But they only spoke a handful of times, with the longest sentence being “so excited to play in Salt Lake City, love playing here!” I discovered their music while going through my divorce, and it meant a lot. I wanted to hear why the artists writing experience connected with me so much. That was disappointing to not hear much vulnerability from them. I really wanted to get to know more about the band, not just hear them live. The opener was a lot more vulnerable, and I felt more attached to their music even though I had never heard them before.
I’ve been going to this venue for a while and never had issues but the recently updated their credit card system so they no longer take discover cards and when you show up expecting to buy food and a drink with a discover card you’ve always used there, that’s a big deal
She was so interactive with the audience and the set list was blissful!
Love this venue so much, and The Japanese House. Wish every venue was like this.
fantastic performance and great crowd. the sound and lights were amazing and the setlist covered all the hits!
Ive been waiting since the Covid debacle of 2020 to see The Japanese House do what they do live, and I can safely say it was well worth the wait. Fantastic energy. Fun and engaged with the crowd and vocals like a hot knife through butter. Venue was cool and sound was great. Super nice staff was icing on the cake.
The Japanese House put on a great show! Amber and her band were very entertaining and played some great Indie Pop tunes. They have a unique sound and really engaged with the audience. Fun venue and good atmosphere! Great show!
There was an amazing light tunnel at Spirit Hall in Pittsburgh that apparently has never been there and it was at no other show. The lighting definitely set the mood for the concert. It was really chill and a small venue, but down to earth and it was the first time I’ve ever really been able to be that close to the stage. I’ve always wanted to see The Japanese House, and I’m lucky to have gone to such a unique concert as this one. Amber has an amazing voice that I’ve always been so attracted to, and her voice and the band’s music has evolved so much over the past years and I’m happy to have been a part of that. The music set list was great and the instrumentals, vocals, and whole energy of the place was fantastic.
one of the best artists I have ever seen live. Her stage presence and her emotion is clearly seen & just wow
The show was fun, I brought my 14 year old daughter to her first concert. Amber Bain was really cool. She took pictures with us etc. I'd go see her again if she comes. back through.
Super great venue as well as a great show! There weren't a ton of people there which made things even better and a lot of us got to meet Amber (The Japanese house) after!
Apart from the japanese house's van breaking down and having to wait an extra hour outside, the experience was amazing. Amber is so talented and put that talent right on the stage. Awesome performance all around. She even came out to hug the fans and give autographs.
It wasn't anything special, kind of boring. A little bit less than what I expected. The music is good though
The venue was absolutely amazing and The Japanese House brought...the house down lol. It was great great vibes and everything. Hopes she comes back soon.
Officailly my favorite artist ever! Her vocals were amazing and the tweaks and remixes she did to parts of her songs were legendary. I will never forget this night and her stage presence. The Big Moon was amazing too and I'm still upset I couldn't buy a shirt. Looking forward to both of them coming back to Philly. The venue was so casual that everyone attending got to meet the performers, as well. So friendly and human. It was seriously an unforgettable experience. Side note: If you make music or respect amazing lyrical reverb guitars and groovy keyboards, both of these bands are totally worth seeing.
