    Irish Rovers better with age!

by Sampolio on 3/20/17The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Saw the Rovers on St. Patty's Day for the first time. Really enjoyed the easy-going, relaxed atmosphere with everyone involved. Because the Rovers obviously still enjoy what they do, so did the audience. It was great fun for all involved. Their showmanship was absolutely superb, with each band member contributing at some time - either with the music, or the sight gags, or both! The flutist was absolutely fantastic, either bringing you for the ride when he played a sad ballad or a jubilant chorus. The band is seemingly getting better with age and simply put, these men are not youngsters! Excellent!!!

With 50 years worth of songs to choose from, of course, they couldn't preform everyone's favorites, but they did hit a few good oldies as well as some of their newer stuff. I took my mom and aunt for their birthday. I was very impressed with the show and highly recommend it.

Irish Rovers as good as it gets

by WzOwl on 3/7/17Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I saw the originals twice forty some years ago and couldn't believe I had the opportunity to see them again. They did not disappoint. It was a toe tapping, hand clapping party, beginning to end.

A Step Back In Time - As Fantastic as ever!

by Anonymous on 3/7/17Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I purchased a 33 1/3 vinyl record of The Irish Rovers in 1964 after I heard "The Unicorn" on the radio and my 2 year old daughter smiled from ear to ear and began dancing to it as best she could at her age.

Played all of the hits but kind of "mailed it in"

    by Steve921 on 3/6/17Uptown Theatre - Napa

The lack of spontaneity can be expected at their age I suppose. All of the hits were played with precision but they didn't really interact with the crowd much or let loose, so it came off as neatly packaged and "canned". The piper seemed to have the most fun and energy.

    Great Irish Fun

by Lewsee on 2/16/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The Irish Rovers can still play a mean mandolin and accordion and blow a great whistle. The humor is old and cliche but still delivered for an LOL. the crowd was grey haired and had no problem clapping and singing along, that interaction made it memorable.

    Rovers Retirement Fun (d)

    by Doreeninpa on 8/28/14F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

The songs have been sung by them and many others who copy their work, you will find the songs comforting and fun friends! The Rovers are a comical bunch but not so you miss any song choices. The talented Artist who created their 50th Anniversary poster in a Celtic Art style influenced by their songs was available to sign the poster when you bought it! (Bonus), than after the show ended and they had a short break the Rovers came to a set up table and down the line I went with poster, their new 3 CD album and a cabinet card. They signed them all and chatted, that was (Bonus). OMG I was both thrilled and floored by their kindness to their fans and their show, its legendary and good for the soul to sing with them and not just a stereo or impersonator! Much thanks and love to the Irish Rovers Happy Retirement Gentlemen! Doreen, Monroe Co, PA

Irish Rovers, still at the top of their game!

    by Anonymous on 8/27/14F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

My brother and I went to see the Irish Rovers at the Kirby Center in Wilkes Barre Pa. The boys came out and were in high spirts and high gear, they didn't slow down for the entire show. They laughed, joked and played as if it was 1968 all over again. It was a great show for anyone in attendance. If you get a chance try and see them on this tour, you won't be disappointed!

Like An Evening With Old Friends

    by PSUCSIRet on 8/27/14F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

So often when a band is around for so long and experiencing changes in members, there is drop in the quality of the show if not the group itself. I have attended concerts were the performer had stayed well past his/her performing prime. Not with the Irish Rovers. Their performance was up to par with all of the ones I have seen in the past. Their easy demeanor and connection with the audience can make a crowd of a few thousand feel like an evening at the corner pub.

    awesome

    by opal4me on 8/27/14F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

We went to see the Irish Rovers the other night and I was very impressed. Being a musician myself, I was amazed at the talent of all the muscians and how they expertly played their instruments. I was just a tab bit disappointed that I couldn't understand even ONE word that they were singing. It was jumbled for me. I wish I could of heard what they were saying - I was especially impressed with the original Irish Rover and the talent in playing that accordian - WOW! He fingers were all over that keyboard. There musical sound was fantastic - just wish I could hear better. Kudos to the Irish Rovers!!!!
