About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Perfect event

by Shawn on 7/29/24Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Thompson point in Portland Me is an amazing venue to see a show. Perfect outside and tons of food options. What makes it even better is when your favorite band plays there and plays an amazing show. The set list was great. The sound was clear and the band had tons of energy. Can’t wait to see them again and hopefully back at Thompson Point

Great experience for my kids’ first real concert. We loved the chill vibes and great music. Nice to have the option of sitting on a blanket or getting up to dance. The Head and the Heart were fun and engaging and sounded awesome.

It was a great evening of music and energy. The band sounds great an has many great songs but what I really enjoy is their joy in playing for the audience. They are truly involved in the show and connecting with the crowd. I highly recommend that you see them LIVE!

    by J C on 11/21/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Oh wow… even better live than I imagined. And of course to be in the great venue of the Orpheum where truly every spot is a good one. Then them finishing the tour in Nola cause they feel it’s a special place. Saw a couple band members after in front of theatre and conveyed to them what a great show. Incredible

  • Definitely Go!

by Danny on 11/18/23Tannahill's Tavern and Music Hall - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

The word “performance” is not correct to describe this, it was more like being amongst a group of friends singing songs that you’ve enjoyed for years. THATH sound exactly like their recordings and are so engaging during their show. It’s hands down one of the best bands I’ve had the opportunity to experience in concert.

  • Had a good time.

The Head and the Heart was absolutely amazing! The sounded great live and the lighting really added to the experience. I’m so glad I had the chance to see them when they came close to where I live. I’ll definitely see them again if they come our way another time!

Wow, THATH were on fire at this show! Great energy, sounded great (not too loud), just an all-around perfect show. I only wish they'd played longer!

  • Not the right venue for this band

by LBC on 11/13/23The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

The Head and The Heart was amazing as always. However this was not a great venue for them. It felt closed in (especially in section 103) and the acoustics were off...at times it was so loud we were holding our ears. We have seen them elsewhere and enjoyed the show much more. I hope the visit an outdoor venue like PNC Pavillion on their next trip in town. We don't plan to see them at Andrew Brady Venue in the future.

  • Amazing Show!

by BobB on 11/13/23The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

The band was amazing as always...can't wait to see them again very soon. I really like the venue as well, this was my second show there and I had a great time. The sound, the view, and the people are all great.

  • Best show ever!

by Jordy on 11/12/23The Andrew J Brady Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third show by The Head and the Heart I've been to and every single one has been phenomenal. They love and appreciate their fans so much. A very humble and talented band! They always put in 110% and the energy is contagious! Aside from the great show, the venue itself was great too. It was my first time there. Security was very organized yet polite and it was easy to navigate. I felt safe and enjoyed the whole show!

  • Amazing!

Pretty easy... The Head and the Heart was absolutely the best from start to finish... Great music, great entertainment, great opening act ( Drew Holcomb) and great audience appreciation. Will see them every time they come to town,

  • The Head and the Heart was awesome!

by Amymae711 on 11/6/23Hart Theatre at the Egg - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

First off, there is never a bad seat at the Egg! Anywhere you sit, you can see the show well and it's an intimate experience. Secondly, The Head and the Heart definitely did not disappoint either. They don't need to wear flashy costumes or put on a fancy light show. Their music and voices are their superpower, and every single song was fantastic. I haven't seen them in about 5 years, and I actually forgot how many of their songs that I know and love. l also loved their simple backyard-looking hanging lights, it was so comfortable and homey. And although the men are amazing singers and have great stage presence... in my opinion, Charity always steals the show. Her voice is out of this world good and her violin playing entraps you in its majestic beauty. They proved without a doubt why it was a sold out show. Loved loved loved them and I hope they will keep returning to Albany!
