The Head and the Heart are a must see! Their shows have amazing energy and they give a great performance, They also tour with some great acts. I went initially to see their opening act and now can't wait to follow all three bands. The Royale is a perfect spot. A mini-House of Blues there is balcony seating and then open floor seating below. Large bar that was well staffed. Show was sold out and the place was still easy to navigate with out having to wait an hour to get a drink or use the bathroom. I will most definitely go back to see The Head and the Heart and to the Royale. A+

About
The Head and the Heart in Concert
With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.
The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

Freaking Love The Head & The Heart!
by MegaMuffin4568 on 10/3/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Absolutely amazing band! Perfect, fun atmosphere live. I hope to see them again one day. Truly an experience! If you ever get the chance to see them, do not pass it up! Lovely crowd for an outstanding band, as well! :) Wonderful personality, wonderful people.
Perfect
by GrowthFactor9 on 10/2/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I was really impressed by Thao, of Thao and the get down stay downs. Great performer, great energy. H&H were predictably mesmerizing. Not a huge catalog of songs yet, but they impressed. They seemed genuinely grateful for the audience reaction too, which is always refreshing.
My head and my heart

Head & The Heart were AMAZING. Two opening acts were just OK.
Do not miss these guys & gal!
by DMB2280 on 10/2/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5This was my 5th & 6th time seeing THATH (went to both Bowery shows). I was lucky enough to see them back in February at Terminal 5 for my first show... and watched as this band's fanbase grow over the last 7 months (seeing practically a show a month). They have the most energy of any band I've seen...and it's so contagious to the audience! They are also great people (was fortunate enough to meet and chat with each member in July at Bearsville Theatre in Woodstock - awesome venue btw!) which makes them even more of a joy to watch. I love watching musicians have fun on stage.. and these 6 have a blast!! You can see it in their faces, the way they sing, dance and play. Can't wait to see them again!!
Thank you, sir...may I have another?
by ConcertFrequent on 10/2/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Wonderful show. The first opening band, Devil Whale, started off with a great sound... I would buy their cd. As for Head and the Heart ...a genuine and alluring mix of people who utilize many instruments and voices to create a folk fantasy. All fancy phrases aside, great show. Pitch and beats right on, and a great group dynamic. I highly recommend.

Experiencing The Head and the Heart live was an immersion in folk-rock love and awesomeness. They're a group of musicians with an infectious passion for their craft, and with their careful handling of sentimental themes, end up actually leaving you with a lighthearted sense of optimism and joy. The band and the crowd fed off each other in the best possible way, creating a surprisingly intimate atmosphere in the pretty solidly mid-sized venue. They're just feel-good music. Period :)
The Head and the Heart Rocked the Bowery
by TheFlip on 10/2/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5Despite starting their set past this old fogy's usual bedtime, they had me clapping along and cheering after every song. They brought energy to the stage that matched the power in their singing. It's refreshing to seea band that so obviously loves what they are doing, as shown by their interaction with the audience, and jumping in with the opening act.

Could not have asked for a better concert experience. Undoubtedly one of the best shows I've ever seen. What a stellar group. Humble, fun, generous, and AMAZING. I would go back for this one again and again.

This was AMAZING. The Head and the Heart have soulful, relatable lyrics and a played beautifully heartfelt show. This was my second time seeing them and I absolutely recommend it to everyone. The venue was also perfect! The Royle Guilt is a great atmosphere with a bar if you're over 21. It's a very intimate setting. This show was worth every penny.

This was my 3rd time seeing them in two months, and by far the best show of theirs I've seen. Might have been the best show I've seen this year. I brought two friends who had never heard their music and they fell in love and immediately bought the album.
Great atmosphere. Great show.
by Anonymous on 10/2/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Such a fun show. Never heard a crowd that loud. Cool venue.
Head and the Heart: intensity and delight
by twoearsandaheart on 10/2/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I'd seen them twice before and loved, but this Boston show was mind-bendingly good: the whole crowd screaming all the lyrics, and them giving another ecstatic performance with sweat-pouring fervor. The Head and the Heart is six musicians who are all startlingly talented, and every one of them leaves it all on the floor for you. The soul-squeezing intensity they bring to shows is rivaled (in my concert-going experience) only by Swell Season/The Frames' front-man Glen Hansard. A++.
Great Show
by DKMKNY on 10/2/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5Head and the Heart engaged the audience with energized renditions of their great folk melodies. The opening bands were surprisingly awesome and this show would rank as an all time favorite among hundreds of shows I've attended.
