About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

Concert was amazing. They got the crowd going and left us wanting more. The opening acts were great as well. I want to see head and the heart again ASAP!!

Both the opener and the Head and the Heart were fantastic live! Talented musicians and captivating performers. I would pay to see them again (which is saying a lot)

The Head and the Heart came out with harmonies blazing on Friday night. From our vantage point behind the soundboard we watched with pleasure as they sang one great song after another. Favorites for me were Winter Song, Rivers and Road and a beautiful acoustic solo encore. I want them to come back again STAT!

The show was great, but it was dispassionately short because the venue had a halloween party.

  • The Head and the Heart were outstanding!!

This is the second time I've seen them live and they sounded great. They even had a little stage banter which makes it more personnel. I thought their first album was quite lovely but now this second album is just as well. I lost my nephew a couple weeks ago and most of the songs hit me hard at the concert but that's ok, it helped with the grieving process.

  • Head and Heart was awesome

Loved the show!!! I was iffy about the new album but really loved hearing it live. It convinced me to enjoy the new album just as much as the previous one. I definitely like the first opener but was tired of the second opener after a few songs- not bad, just too much.

  • Decent show if you're a huge fan

My wife is a fan of The Head and the Heart, and they put on a fine show. I'm a casual fan but love live shows so we went. There was never a point where the show got really exciting, the crowd sort of stood and watched and cheered when their radio song came on. There was clapping between each song, but otherwise it was a very mellow show. If that is your thing, you should check them out for sure.

  • The Head and The Heart were awesome!

The Head and The Heart have matured, musically-speaking, leaps and bounds. You can tell they enjoy performing together and involve the audience in their playful banter. Great song selection from two records.

I'm a big fan of this band. They put on a good show, but didn't seem to have as much energy as they did last year.

  • Head And The Heart unbelievable electric show

by Pappy on 10/27/13Egyptian Room at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I'm not a huge fan of this venue but I am so glad I went to see these guys. I saw them last 2 years ago and while they were very good at that time the difference and how they have improved blew me away. One of the best concerts I have ever been to. Crowd and band fed off each other's energy. They practically played the whole newly released album which was just outstanding. The 2-3 part harmonies were beautiful. The sound was right on it also.

  • THATH

OMG! Amazing! I friend of mine turned me on to this band and they are soooooo good! So much talent! The band actually performed, FOR FREE, at Luna, a record store in Indy, the night before their actual show at the Murat. They stayed after to chat with fans and pose for pictures and sign autographs. How cool is that?! I'm so glad I got to see them and meet them! They're very personable and clearly care about their fans by allowing us to connect with them in that way. Awesome! Oh, and they have such beautiful voices!!!!!!!

  • The Head and the Heart was amazing!

I have been a fan of THATH for quite some time and was excited to have a week with their new cd before I went to their concert. Their second album is so good that I practically had it memorized in a week! They played a good mix of new and old songs. THATH pours their souls out onto that stage. You could feel their pain and their joy. If they come back to Indy, I am definitely going!

  • I'm in live with Charity Rose

The Head and the Heart put on an awesome show! Great musicians! Outstanding music!

  • Venue - Band equally great

by Expatress on 10/20/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

The band played 4 songs for an encore, all of their hits as well as a bunch off their new album. They seemed happy and excited to play in NY as well. The sound and volume were perfect. The venue has three well stocked bars, surprisingly clean and ample bathrooms and it was small enough to feel like everyone had good seats. I also really loved the balcony seating which was the same price as general admission. Next time I'll get there early for those prime seats.

  • I got lost in my mind!
