About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Great time

by Jb on 6/15/25Fillmore New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and The Heart are AMAZING! They sang a long time and sang an assortment of their songs from all their albums. Absolutely amazing show! I'm ready to see them again!

  • Electrifying Show!!

by AmandaBarham on 6/14/25Coca-Cola Roxy - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Last Monday night's performance by The Head and The Heart at the Coca-Cola Roxy was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment they took the stage, it was clear we were in for something special. The band delivered a brilliant, emotionally charged set filled with the kind of soul-stirring harmonies and dynamic musicianship that has made them one of my all-time favorite bands. Every member of the group radiated both talent and compassion. Their energy was infectious, their sound—both raw and refined—wrapped the crowd in a warm embrace that only true artistry can deliver. In a particularly moving moment, the band actually paused the show to check on a guest in distress, showing that their hearts are just as full as their voices. It’s rare to see a band that consistently brings this much heart, connection, and authenticity to the stage. The Head and The Heart never disappoint—and last night, they reminded us all why we fell in love with them in the first place. It was an unforgettable night with a band that continues to define what live music is all about.

  • A master class in live performance

by Tito on 6/12/25The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

THATH live in Silver Spring, MD was one of their best performances I've seen of theirs. The energy of both the band and the crowd was amazing. The set list, spanning their entire catalogue, was balanced, and even though Apature just came out, the band was tour ready with the focus they had with their newer songs. As long as they keep touring, I'll keep going!

  • Head and the Heart

by Lisa on 6/12/25Coca-Cola Roxy - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert, but they had two opening acts and since it didn’t start till 8, they didn’t go on till almost 10, so didn’t end till after 11:30. This was a Monday night.

  • Another Great Show!

  • H&H deliver an energetic performance

by JeffR on 6/11/25The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 3 out of 5

For starters, I am only a casual Head and the Heart fan, so perhaps it is not fair for me to review their show. But I have been to hundreds of concerts and can give an objective perspective of the concert. I really enjoyed it, and they delivered an upbeat performance that really got the crowd going. That being said, I could only get in to it so much when I didn't know most of the songs they did. The only album of theirs that I have is "Let's Be Still,"which I love. Alas, they didn't do my two favorite songs on the album ("My Friends"and the title track). I also listened to a few songs from their new release, "Aperture."Thus, I knew 5 of the 24 songs they did. I still managed to enjoy the show, and I really like their sound. And they know how to engage the crowd, which was singing along loudly to many of the songs. I just wish I knew them and could sing along!

  • A Joy to See

by Tina on 6/10/25The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

I have listened to The Head and The Heart for years but never got the chance to see them. If you ever only get to do one thing in your life, I say see live shows. It is an experience that cannot compare to what you hear from a studio recording. This band had so much energy and was a delight to watch. You could tell they also had fun.

  • Great setlist but not the best venue

by KS on 6/10/25The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 3 out of 5

Absolutely loved having THATH come back to the DC metro area. The setlist was phenomenal and felt like their own version of the Era's Tour. We were treated to some rare gems. My reason for 3 stars was the venue (The Filmore -Silver Spring). It was over sold and from the stage to the back doors and from bar to bar - we were packed in like sardines. We literally couldn't move. The sound wasn't great either. So while it was a great performance from THATH, I actually didn't enjoy it because of the venue.

  • Great show

by Robert on 6/9/25The Met Presented by Highmark - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The head and the heart were absolutely awesome! The opening act by the futurebirds was the worst live performance I’ve ever seen, the too loud bass was so disturbing I had to go out to the beer garden and even there it was maddeningly loud. The head and the heart need to replace them

  • MTELUS audio is just terrible - band was alright

by Sam on 6/8/25MTELUS - MontrealRating: 2 out of 5

I went to the show in Montreal, Quebec. The band was alright, but good lord was the audio terrible. We could barely hear the singers' voices, as the bass was just cranked to the max. It was a total disaster in terms of audio quality. Which is strange, because I've been to many shows and the audio can be excellent in this venue. Not sure what went wrong, but I even saw people leave before the end of the concert. Very disappointing.

  • Great show and venue!
