About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Show was spectacular, loading tickets in app to get in bad

by K. on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Tickets would not load in app, finally after uninstalling and reinstalling and attempting to pull up multiple times it worked.

  • They entertained my head & heart.

by Bruce on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The Head & the Heart have really hit their stride, very deep popular song catalog performed to perfection. It was one long sing along of old favorites and an great introduction to many of their new songs. All six members are very talented, each had plenty of time in the spotlight, very tight band on stage! We wish we could have attended Saturday to hear a few more songs.

  • When did concert behavior change?

by Music fan (not talking fan) on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve always been a fanatic lover of live music. Nothing better for me than watching individuals come together to make amazing music. But, when did it become acceptable to talk during a concert? My concert spending has dropped to only buying tickets for my favorite “must see” acts these days and even that may be coming to an end. I pay money to hear artists perform ... not to hear everyone around me talk through entire shows. Maybe it’s a sign I’m old and not in touch with current ways of doing things, but if you and friends want to hang out and talk, why not just go hang out at a bar or other social location and talk for free? Stop ruining concert experiences for those of us who would rather hear live music than your voices trying to talk over the performance.

  • Head and The Heart @ The Murat

by Bonnie on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The performance itself was wonderful, but the drunken girls behind us were super loud yelling and laughing over the band. It really soured the experience. The sound quality could've been better as well. I may not have noticed if I hadn't seen them perform in other venues.

  • Awesome show!!

It was such a great show and really exceeded any preconceived expectations I had!

  • Awesome evening

by Bob on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Great sold out show at a beautiful venue.. The crowd was very energetic and well behaved and the band did not disappoint. I had only heard a few tracks from them but after seeing them live I will be adding their catalog to my playlist. HIGHLY recommend seeing this band if you get the chance .. I must admit they won me over..!!

  • An awakening

by Veeman on 9/9/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Love their first albums. Wasn’t a huge fan of the latest release, but to see it alive and so vibrant brought a respect and appreciation that wasn’t there. Amazing show.

  • The Head and the Heart killed it

by Esump on 8/12/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this night was great! The band was phenomenal and clearly had a great time with each other performing. The venue was the perfect level of packed (shows that are overcrowded can be tough as a 5’4” gal). It was my first time at Bill Graham and I had a great time!

  • AMAZING!

by JennPort on 8/4/19Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

They never disappoint! The venue is great and The Head and The Heart delivered a diverse set from all of there albums with some bonus songs. One of my favorite bands.

  • Great show

by D. on 7/30/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the flexible GA venue. Both hippocampus and head and heart were great!

  • Great band

by A. on 7/29/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and the Heart were fabulous but the sound system at The bill Graham center was a little blown out. Otherwise a great show.

  • Sound system distorted band harmony

by Ed on 7/29/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I love this band and have seen them live multiple times. The sound system was off at this event; the bass was overwhelming and there were multiple instances of microphone issues.

  • Reno show

by Jocelyn on 7/28/19Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

I love this band, so it was great to see them live. They souded just as good in concert as recorded. I had also never seen a show at GSR, so i didn't know what to expect for a view, but it was the perfect size venue, so almost any seat would've been a good view.

  • Cool Music on a Hot Night

by Roy Batty on 7/26/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

It's about time this fabulous group is getting the attention they deserve. Fantastic show, excellent musicianship.

  • Love this band

by Boo Boo on 7/25/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

What a great concert! This group's music really moves me. I can relate so much to their lyrics. Comerica Theater is an awesome venue. Intimate but not small and crowded. Great experience.

  • The Head and the Heart is amazing live!!

by Madison on 7/25/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Every single member of the band is full of energy and very very talented. Super fun concert.

  • Good show - would’ve been great with better sound

    by K. on 7/25/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

The Head and the Heart are amazing live. I would’ve enjoyed the show a lot more if the sound were better. Normally I am relaxed with THATH music, but I felt a bit on edge because the sound seemed unbalanced and overly loud and grating. It definitely was not the band’s fault. Hippo Campus also sounded off and as my first time seeing them, I wasn’t impressed. But my friend said they sounded much better when she saw them some months ago at the Van Buren. I think the sound was just off all night.

  • Great

by Crystal on 7/25/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

What a great experience. The head and the Heart were phenomenal, the crowd was super excited and had a great vibe. They are really great musicians and are amazing to see love. Been a fan for six and finally got my chance to see them live. So happy!!!

  • True treat!

by Thegirlwiththehair on 7/25/19Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

Drove all the way from vegas to Phoenix to see the head and the heart. It was well worth it! They were amazing. The venue although big was very chill, easy to get to and easy to park. The only sad thing was hippo campus the opening band seemed slightly off their game. Hope to see them again give them another chance
