Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.
The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

The concert itself was very good but it was a little disheartening when we showed up thinking we had reserved seats and it was general admission, first come first serve. My party had tickets with an actual row number and assigned seats but we were told when we arrived that we go sit any where in the "gold" section. This was the first event that we attended at the Chuckchansi Gold Resort so we were unaware of the seating arrangements. Still, if the seating was general admission for the price we paid, it would have been nice to know.
The concert was absolutely awesome. They still know how to entertain us baby boomers. Sure hope they come back again !!!
I've been a fan for forty years since I grew up with them in Canada. Who would know that I would finally get to see them in a podunk little town in California . Often times the old rock or country bands sound dated , "has-beens" who can't seem to give up the star life. Not so for these guys. By adding a couple of younger guys who sounds amazingly like the original players, they've updated and yet still retain their original attraction. Wonderful show!
Growing up listening to The Guess Who in the 70s, I wasn't sure what to expect from this group after almost 40 years. After all, there are only three original memers left in the band and securing a lead singer that would even come close to Randy Bachman is never an easy undertaking. All my doubts we laid to rest when the band performed their first number. Lead singer Derek Sharp's incredible voice rivals that of Bachman. The three veterans - Jim Kale (bass/vocals), Leonard Shaw (keys/flute/vocals), and Garry Peterson (drums/vocals) - didn't miss a lick in their performance. Lead guitarist Laurie MacKenzie provided some fresh sounds to the band's classic music. The event was a memorable one which I will keep for years to come.
Our seats were great and I was amazed at how good they sounded. One of the best concerts I have been to.
The lead singer had a good voice and overall the group was just good. I thought they were very unpolished as a group. Something you would have expected from amateurs and not professionals. I would not recommend this act.
The group was fantastic. We had no idea what we were in for. We had never attended this groups concert before. For some reason we thought it was going to be the Who , LOL, anyhow, they were very entertaining and kept you into the entrie show the whole time. They started out slow and we were worried that it was going to be a waste of our 74 bucks to see them "with our seats" and to our amazement we can't wait to see them next year. The lead singer was great.
ha ha ha he he....how many concerts have you seen when the original band member said this "I can't move too much now since I have two titatium hip replacements" that was Mitch Ryder and their music is just as awesome when I was young. Love all the songs by The Guess Who specially when they sang "This Eyes" and American Woman
Brought me back to a younger day. I couldn't believe I still knew the words to almost every song. What a great way to spend an evening out. Hats off to the band.
I was not expecting such a great show from Mitch Ryder! He is fantastic and just as good as he was when I was a kid! I'll buy your new CD! The Guess Who, what can I say? Great, fun, talented. I loved the show!
Got to see my favorite band after 13 years and they were great as usual Dying to see them again...
It was fun listening to the Guess Who. They sounded great and they were very entertaining.
I liked the fact that the concert was at a small venue. The volume/sound was not overpowering. There were two original band members, but the newcomers (vocalist and lead guitarist) were perfect accompaniment and made the whole show very energetic. In between songs, the band members would engage the audience with backdrop stories about the upcoming songs or cute stories about eash other. This concert was very entertaining and affordable. I got more for my $.
New lead singer could give Burton Cummings a run for his money. Great singer and guitarist. Knew how to work the audience and how to interact with the rest of the band.
I love the Guess Who. I love their music and their songs. I saw them about a year or so ago at the Belterra Casino and thought it was a great concert. This time, not so much. They used a different lead singer than before and the song tracks seemed to have no pattern. I did not enjoy the long guitar solos that seemed to go on forever and I couldn't wait until it was over. The previous lead singer was much better. I still enjoyed it when they performed their old hits but didn't care much for the new stuff. While I will still be a big fan, I probably won't attend the next concert if they return. Sorry guys.
The band only had 2 original members but they were every bit as good as the full band. Great show. Vocals from lead singer very good. The original drummer in his sixties showed his experience and had the chops of a 20 year old. Belterra is THE place to see concerts. The seating is all good. It is tiered. Bar is convenient. No "festival" seating like other casino venues. We renewed are appreciation of The Guess Who".
First of all Belltera is a great place to see a concert. The venue is good . All seats are great. The Guess Who did a fantastic job entertaining me and I enjoyed all the music old and new. Their lead was adorable and very entertaining. They met the audience after the concert which I thought was really nice so you could tell them how much you enjoyed their performance. Good job. I'll come and see you again.
We saw The Guess Who in Owensboro at the Executive Inn a couple of years ago and enjoyed it so much that we sought them out. The Belterra Casino is a great, intimate arena for concerts. Not a bad seat in the house. I would recommend the group and the venue.
I did some research online before buying tickets because with these older bands, you never know what you're going to get. It's true than two of the Guess Who's founders and leading song-writers, Bachman and Cumming, left the band years ago, but the two founders who are left have made sure that the bands sounds as vital as ever. I was just a kid when most of their songs were originally released, so I had forgotten how many great songs came from the Guess Who, but they can play a full 90 minutes of hits with another half hour of less popular but still enjoyable material. I would pay to see them again.
