About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

The show really did ROCK. Being a real fan of The Guess Who, I wished they had played a little longer and played some of the maybe less known music, but the music a real fan would have loved to hear.

... is what I did the entire concert!!! LOVED every second of their performance. From the Old Favorites to the New Material to the Stories of Guess Who history to the Extremely Talented Solos of both the Original and Newer Members. Did not want it to end as we were thoroughly entertained.

  • the guess who was DISSAPOINTING

    by kwalk722 on 11/4/14Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic CityRating: 1 out of 5

They only played like 5 songs, talked about Canada so much I felt they were putting down the USA...they had to make it a point to say they hired an american. It was very disappointing...will never go to another of their shows... They talked so much after each song, announced the band members repeatedly... and if i had to guess...i would say they were on drugs...i was close and their mouth movements were not from playing a instrument...but that's my opinion.

Absolutely, positively super!!!! High energy, vocals were right on the spot (lead singer was wonderful....what a voice), and music sounded just like original recordings. AND they did all their hit songs that we loved (unlike some acts that do all new stuff). I'd go and see them again next week, if possible. Will definitely return to see them when they come back.

  • Amazing as always

Gotta admit that we are huge Guess Who fans having attended over 50 shows. They have never had an off performance. They are all true professionals and epitomize the term "showmen". Their interaction with the audience and with each other is brilliant. My wife gave Derek a bouquet of roses and in return she received a hug and a big kiss. Lots of jealous ladies in the crowd. The moment was PRICELESS. I strongly encourage everyone to attend a Guess Who performance.

  • Guess Who

This was one of the most entertaining shows we've been to lately, and we attend many shows. The band performed all the songs you're looking for and sounded great in doing so. They know what you came for and were more than able to deliver it. Everybody was singing along through the whole show, young and old alike. Original Guess Who Bass player and original Drummer were more than adequately backed up by the Lead singer/2nd guitar player and the very skilled 1st guitar player as well as the Keyboard/Flutist/Sax player. Even the 2 "new" songs they performed (written by the Lead singer) were very entertaining. They stretched out some of the old hits a bit because they COULD yet kept the set list tight and moving. No self indulgence from these guys. As much as I like Bachman and Cummings, I must say there is no "let down" from the new guys, their guitar work, keyboards, flute and 5 part harmonies sounded just like you expected. Incredible! If you were to young to see them live in the 60's, here's your chance!

they only had one ordinal band member, and they should of played longer. Canary I'm disappointed
