About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

  • A bit disappointing- too many unknown songs

by coach on 4/8/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

We were SO excited about this concert! And then out they came, opening with a song we’d never heard of. Then a 2nd unknown song. Talk about starting with a bang — NOT! They definitely played many of their famous songs which was very enjoyable. However there were too many songs that were unknown. Maybe this band just doesn’t have enuf big hits to carry a whole show on their own? If anyone connected to this band is reading this… please take my advice and start the show with a hit song! And make it a biggie!

  • Awesome voice and great attitude throughout the show

Derek Sharp's voice is amazing. The whole band puts on a great show. Full of good energy and positivity. The whole concert was like that and we left feeling much better than when we got there.

  • The Guess Who

by KA on 4/8/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was good but not great. Basically they sound like a cover band. They played their greatest hits with a few newer songs mixed in. The old songs were performed well but didn’t have the appeal of the originals given the change of vocalists. The newer songs were pretty good. The concert lasted about 95 min.

Did not sound like the original Guess Who or even a good cover band . They sounded more like a bar band Mahaffey Theater was 5 star .Food , drink and service was phenomenal

  • Awesome show

This was one of the best concerts I’ve been to this year. The band played their memorable songs from the 60s 70s and new stuff too. Definitely would attend again and highly recommend!

  • Missing a song

by DG on 4/8/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Laughing was one of the Guess Who's classics. Yet, somehow, they didn't perform it. Disappointing in an otherwise enjoyable concert.

  • Incredible and unforgettable

by Cheyanne on 4/5/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing. The Guess Who was amazing and they sounded great. There was a hum but the band picked up on it and had it quickly fixed. Lines for drinks were short which was nice. Bleachers felt a little bit unsteady but we had a lot of people in that row so that makes sense.

  • So much fun

by She went on 4/4/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 5 out of 5

In the last 6 months we've had the pleasure of supporting live music in the form of old rock & roll many times. We've traveled as much a 7 hours to see the bands we knew we would enjoy. Seeing them again or for the first time has given my wife and I great jot. The Guess Who show was wonderful. The songs stirred many happy memories. It is pretty easy to understand as they sounded like did 50 years ago. It's funny to compare the demeanor of the audience from the 1970s to the audience of 2024. It may well have been many of the same people; today they need to be encouraged to dance in the isle! The Guess Who played many of their hits and the packed auditorium showed their approval with singing, dancing and applause. I would go again in a heart beat. Those guys can sing and play like the did in their late 20s, even though they admitted having to get up to pee twice a night. Those of you who do will understand what that means. Long live old rock & roll, especially when played by old rock & rollers!!

  • Fantastic Show!

by Boreal on 4/3/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 5 out of 5

"The Guess Who"really outdid themselves! I expected Great Old hits, but they Rocked every song through the roof! I attend a lot of (big name) Rock Concerts, and I'd put these guys Talent, Energy, and Stage Presence up against any of them. Bravo Performance!. Really enjoyed the show!

  • Awesome concert

by Linda on 4/3/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 5 out of 5

The Guess Who concert was great. I saw them last year and they seem to get better all the time. The biggest difference was the warm-up bands last year were not the same genre and really ruined our experience. This year the Transit Authority was the warm-up band and they were very good also. The whole concert was entertaining from start to finish. The various members of The Guess Who spoke to the audience about the history of the band, previous members who contributed songs, and included the audience in some of the songs. It was great!

  • Good Show, Seats Suck

by Roger C on 4/2/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 4 out of 5

I haven't been to a concert in a very long time. I went with my brother and had a great time. The band was amazing, the beer was cold, but the seats were hard as rock and wide enough for a skinny teenager.

  • ok concert

Loved the chicago tribute band, they were excellant . Was disappointed with The Guess Who. Thought they would sing wore of their old songs. The ones they did sing they changed.

  • Guess Who was excellent

by Bogeydon on 4/2/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 5 out of 5

Warm up band Transit Authority was very good playing Chicago hits. The Guess Who knocked it out of the park! Derek Sharp and company were very entertaining, and they always seem to have a good time entertaining us.

  • Great show - Small seats

    by Mac1express on 4/2/24Treasure Island Resort & Casino - WelchRating: 4 out of 5

The show was GREAT. They played some new and old tunes. Great stage performance, the sound guy could use some training. A little over cranked at times. And the seats are a bit small, and I’m not that big. Overall I’d definitely go again!!!

  • Guess who still rocking

These guys never disappoint. They had the crowd singing along and on their feet numerous times. Amazing to think they have been around since 1965, and Garry Peterson did not miss a beat!!
