    The Great Divorce - Wonderful!

by AMcK on 6/15/22Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

This one's a little deep, if you know nothing about it. At the least, before you see it, read about it and in the theater, read the program. I've read the book, and the play smoothed out some rough patches remaining after having done so. I also loved that Max McLean was there to answer audience questions at the end. Wonderful book by C.S. Lewis!

    True to book

by MN Lewis fan on 5/4/22State Theatre - Minneapolis

We enjoyed the one person Lewis show, two person cast Screwtape Letters, and now The Great Divorce. The cast did an amazing job bringing so many distinct roles to life. I will admit there was a pushing scene at the beginning that seemed a little slapstick, but I was hook, line and sinker into the story soon after. I loved the book, and though it has been a few years, felt like this captured its heart beautifully and brought it to life in a creative and powerful way. Another job well done!

    thought-provoking

by PP on 4/12/22State Theatre - Minneapolis

Slow-moving initial 30 minutes but then I had to put on my thinking cap to understand full message in closing 30 minutes. I loved post-performance Q&A for audience hosted by director. Highly recommended

    Wonderful!

by Barbara on 3/27/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Ok, it was terrific. I have seen the screwtape letters in NYC on Broadway. This performance was equally as incredible. The only complaint I have is WHY mention Sarah, the most incredibly, mind-bending, beautiful chapter in the book and not actually tell the story about Sarah and Frank? That made me very sad. Just have to be honest.

    Excellent Show

by Christi on 3/22/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I wasn't sure how this excellent book could possibly be adapted for the stage, but it turns out they have done it so well! The actors were phenomenal, playing so many different characters during the course of the show. The whole show, like the book, is thought-provoking and insightful, and makes for great post-theater conversation!

The Great Divorce did not disappoint!

by Jeannete on 3/22/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The actors were amazing. So talented. The set and production very well done. Thoughtfully put together. It complimented the book well and actually allowed the thought provoking journey and one’s interpretation of it be the star of the show. Great post show discussion - even the next day. We loved it!

    Excellent performance.

by Mr Steve on 3/22/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Excellent performance. The actors were superb. I didn’t realize the female played so many parts, my wife had to inform me of that! They stayed true to CS Lewis works. What an artistic masterpiece.

    Mind-bending

by Paul on 11/19/21Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Once again the Fellowship for the Performing Arts has created and delivered a top quality drama that is a more-than-you can take in feast for mind and spirit. The FPA has done more than bringing C.S. Lewis' book, "The Great Divorce", to life. If you every have the opportunity to see this play - or any other FPA production: run - don't walk - to see it.

It took about 15 mins to get my head in tune, but soon after the deep meaning started coming together. A talented group of actors, combined with great visual effects, brought great life to theatrical performance.

Excellent writing, artistic direction, and acting. Lets Lewis be Lewis without adding any preaching or insulting the audience’s intelligence. Creative use of props, graphics, and lighting design to bring the story to life.
