I'm all for supporting black Productions and all of that however, this was more like a high school play in a big venue. The choreography was sloppy. The storyline was weak. Actors forgot the lines and at many times had to ad lib. The sound quality was horrible. At times you could hear the actors and at other times you could not. Music would come on and be piercing to the ears at times. At the beginning of the show we were told we would get a history of DC and go go however there wasn't much history. There was a lot of, I'm sad to say, ghetto themes that were glorified. Hearing Chuck Brown's daughter talk about how his father knocked out many men in his life was really unnecessary. Also the length of the play was far too long. The play started late, to be expected. And the presentation of the two checks to charity amounting to a total of $1,500 was pretty much a waste of time. It was all so bad form if you ask me. There was nothing grandiose about of $1,500 grand total. They could have just written one check and passed it off. I'm sure getting the humongous display check printed took more effort.
