About

The Gilmour Project Live in Concert

In lieu of Pink Floyd is the recently launched Gilmour Project, a psych-jam group named for the one and only David Gilmour. Together, the prog/jazz/jam/psychedelic supergroup reimagines classic cuts and deep-catalog material from the beloved '70s act.

Conceptualized in 2020 and comprising guitarist Jeff Pevar, keyboardist Scott Guberman, bassist Kasim Sulton, drummer Prairie Prince, and guitarist Mark Karan, the Gilmour Project is much more than your average tribute band.

Pevar has spent time playing with Crosby, Stills & Nash; David Crosby; Phil Lesh; and Ray Charles. Meanwhile, Sulton has contributed bass and vocals to Todd Rundgren's Utopia, Meatloaf, Blue Öyster Cult, Hall & Oates, Cheap Trick, and Patti Smith. Prince is co-founder of the Tubes and has played drums with Todd Rundgren, Jefferson Starship and Phil Lesh. Karan has contributed guitar and vocals to Bob Weir, RatDog and The Other Ones, and rounding out the band's considerable pedigree is keyboardist and vocalist Guberman, who has played with Phil Lesh.

Though the Gilmour Project was initially forced to press pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they officially launched in mid-2021 with a livestream performance from San Francisco's Great American Music Hall. Later in the year, they organized a Thanksgiving-themed performance, "A Dark Slice (of The Moon)," where they reimagined Pink Floyd's 1973 classic album, plus additional material from Floyd's famed 1972 tour, "The Dark Side of The Moon: A Piece For Assorted Lunatics."

In 2022, the Gilmour Project organized their debut tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of David Gilmour and Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, where they performed the album in its entirety, plus rarities from Gilmour's solo catalog.

    Ehhh

    by W. W. on 6/3/22

Good musicians, pretty much stick to the original songs. Played some reasonably obscure tracks. I agree the vocals were somewhat lacking. The lead guitarist was excellent. Having seen both the Australian and British Pink Floyd bands also, I was somewhat disappointed with this performance.

by Maria on 5/31/22The Queen - Wilmington

I knew they would be good but they went beyond my expectations. I smiled the whole time. The are very talented musicians who put on a phenominal show. Im looking forward to seeing them again.

    Come Back!

by Maggie on 5/30/22The Queen - Wilmington

This show was fantastic. No complaints other than it ended. I would have gone 2 nights. They touched on all the classic songs people know but there is so much more to to add next time. It was difficult to sit when you want to feel and experience everything. Thank you for doing One Of These Days. Amazing. Hurry back!

    Loved the show

by Glenn19 on 5/29/22Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

The music was spot on. Vocals could use a little help, but harmonies were good. All in all, excellent show. Guitarist Joe? Is phenomenal.

    waste of a night

by MM21 on 5/25/22Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Penns peak was a great venue! Plenty of room parking etc the band however total opposite. They need to spend another month in the studio to train their staff and crew, along with themselves on how to put on a good live show. too many guitar changes, bad mixes for sound - too many times asking fort monitors etc - song breakups and jams are entirely uneeded - no need for a drum solo with the eventual keyboard duet - zero interaction with the audience - while the 90 bucks it cost me for 2 tickets isn't the end all be all they're better tribute bands out there performing this stuff. These guys could be good - they are talented and can play their instruments - but the talent needs to spend some time getting polished to be a good touring band. They are NOT there yet

I'm a ticket winner from WNCX.

by Jim Johnovich on 5/19/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

The show was awesome and the musicians were really awesome. They did not try to imitate the lights or the vocals or the music itself, they put their own spin on Pink Floyd and they did one hell of a job at it. I won my tickets but I would pay to go see them again and again.

    Instruments were great! Vocals lacked!

by Tina P on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

The musicians certainly know how to play their instruments and jammed very well together! The vocals were hard to listen to!

    Gilmore Project

by violetmoon on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

Good concert but a little too much bass. It was hard to decipher the words on some of the songs. A good choice of music containing some from obscure records. OK graphics. I saw Pink Floyd many years ago but this was a good rendition.

    Great show!

by Kevin on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

These guys are fantastic. They started out sounding pretty great but they kept getting better and better. Drummer Prairie Prince is worth the ticket price all by himself. Kasim Sulton is as solid as they come on bass. Jeff Pevar and Mark Karan shared the job of filling the huge shoes of David Gilmour and most of the time they were spot on. The near capacity crowd was way into the experience throughout the night. The room at MGM Northfield has good acoustics and from my center stage seat in the seventeenth row, I could hear the quadrophonic surround sound quite well.

Greatest Pink Floyd Show (other than the original)

by Jim on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

This show was spectacular!! These guys are OUSTANDING musicians. I was stunned at the talent of each member of the group. This is the best Floyd cover band I have seen. You MUST see this show if you like Floyd. I will see them every time I get the chance from now on.

    Nice venue

by None on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

Maybe it was my bad? But I truly expected David Gilmour and I was sorely disappointed. This band is tight. Some of the songs sounded very good. But overall I was disappointed

    Disappointed

by BG19 on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

I very much looked forward to this show after the original date was cancelled. I am a huge DG fan. We left at intermission. The drummer and keyboardist were good but the others, vocals and guitar (what DG does), was mediocre at best. They were reading lyrics off an iPad for crying out loud. Anyway, if you want to see a truly great PF tribute see Wish You Were Here.

    DID NOT EXPERIENCE DAVID GILMOUR

by The fool on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

Now, who would think the David Gilmour Project, would not feature David Gilmour? Nowhere, anywhere, did it mention that this would be an all-star tribute band. And stop it with the tickets displayed on your phone. That totally sucks.

    good band

by Eggman on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

disappointed they didn't play 'no way out of here' the radio ad kept using the song. they didn't play any of Gilmours solo stuff. found that odd for a band with his namesake.

    Knock off band.

by John C on 5/18/22MGM Northfield Park - Center Stage - Northfield

Having viewed the real p.f. shows, probably 20 to 25 lifetime, hard to see a scaled-down version. However all players are excellent and lead guitar a treat. Worthwhile although a little steep for cover band.

    Great music, poor attendance

by woodbutcher on 5/16/22The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

Been to performing arts center many times Awsome venue. As a huge fan of pink floyd i liked the bands version of the songs. They are very talented. The attendance was disappointing but the fans that were there seemed to enjoy the music. I wound definitely see The Guilmore project again if they came to the. area thanks T.S.C.
