The year 2013 was one of transition for West Coast rapper The Game, who began by promoting his fifth studio album, Jesus Piece, which peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart, and ended it by releasing a new mixtape titled OKE and signing with a new label, Cash Money Records. The MC and his acclaimed concert backing band, 1500 or Nothin, backed the album with a limited number of U.S. tour dates, but fans oversees had more opportunities to buy tickets.
The Game, born Jayceon Taylor, first became known as a member of 50 Cent's G-Unit crew, but he jumped headlong into superstardom with the release of his 2005 album The Documentary, which was executive produced by West Coast rap legend Dr. Dre and sold more than 5 million copies. Game exited Dr. Dre's Aftermath label for his follow-up album, 2006's Doctor's Advocate, but that didn't stop him from again hitting No. 1 on the album chart. His chart success continued with 2008's LAX, which reached No. 2 on the chart, and 2011's The R.E.D. Album, which returned him to the top of The Billboard 200.
I really enjoyed the concert lots of great performers on stage and the Toyota Arena is a great venue for a concert all the seats have a good view.
Enjoyed the artist in a drama free environment. Did not have a long wait between artist, which I loved.
Had such a great time at the concert! Kurupt, Dax, Mack 10, and my personal favorites were SugaFree and DJ Quik! Was also looking forward to the Game and whats a disappointment!!! He didn’t even sound like he wanted to be there, had a drummer that threw set all off and I left three songs into his performance! I’ve seen him perform in his prime this was definitely a letdown! Besides him it was a great show! Little bummed they weren’t t selling any merchandise and also the prices are insane now for drinks and food but just saying cus I’m still gonna go and purchase lol
This concert was everything!!! The crowd could've been more hype but i was lit and so happy to see my favorite artists perform!! They all did that great show!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The concert itself was a good show but there were 3 major artists that I went to see that didn’t perform. They were a major part of why I purchased my tickets. Very disappointing
Welcome To The West III was phenomenal. I was appreciative of all of the artists who performed. The energy of the atmosphere was filled with nothing but good vibes. Deepest gratitude to everyone who helped put such a wonderful event together.
I noticed that at least 5 artist that i was looking forward to seeing did not show up. Including Too Short, B-Real, Warren G, and OT Genasis, amongst others. These are big names that i really wanted to see with no replacement or explanation. Very disappointing with this promoter for not giving us what we paid to see!
Best part of the show was Dj Quick, Sugafree, Tha Dogg Pound & Mack 10. It was mostly unknown artists that spent way too much time on stage. We purposely arrived late to avoid that. The vibe was low, everyone was sitting waiting for the headliners. The Game mostly rambled on so much& didn’t even get on stage till 11:20 & everyone started leaving. The biggest disappointment was Too Short & Warren G never stepped on stage.
Overall, great experience. However, a few artists unfortunately didn’t perform at the concert.
Omg this was my favorite concert this was my first time seeing next time I’m getting vip so I can get closer.
The Game is so accurate to his recorded tracks. He puts an all out performance on. I've seen certain rappers who don't even sing (have their music playing in the background and just dance and jumping around) their own music. I pay to see you perform live, not just see you jumping around and The Game 100% pulled through with his performance. I can't stress enough how close to his true recordings he sounds. He puts on a great performance.
The Game didn't even show and it was never even announced. I found out an hour after the concert was supposed to start on his Instagram. The concert started a hour and a half late. Poor organization left gaps in between sets. No flow to any of the artists coming out. This was literally the worst concert I had ever been to in my life.
The game wasn't there it was ghetto I want my money back
This was one of thee WORST concerts I ever been to in my life....The night was VERY unorganized ...The concert was not thought out .Low Budget and very disappointing..Everyone should get they money back....but that's NOT going good to happen.. Sad and disappointed That 2pac tribute was the worst...if I was 2pac I would be offended
I loved the overall performances. August Alsina was great, but I did agree with his comment saying that the stage set up and the sound system was "wack". Nef the Pharaoh did a great job at energizing the crowd with his performance. All in all the artist were great. However the stage was bone dry. I paid a good amount of money for my ticket to watch an entertaining show, not to see a whole entourage of people constantly having to be kicked off stage. The concert didn't end until hella late because of the lack of organization. Definitely could have been better since that was supposed to be dedicated to the 20th year of rap legend 2pac shakur's death. He deserved something way better than that.
Went to the Music Fest Friday night, August Alsina was amazing, Fat Joe was on point and TI made it worth while but The GAME never entered the building, very disappointing. And random people were on stage like they were at a backyard BBQ.....I didn't pay money to see them standing on stage and waiting forever to CLEAR THE STAGE. There was no control and it was suppose to start at 8 PM but didn't start till after 9PM. The sound was muffled at times.
ALMOST 2 HOURS LATE SOUND SYSTEM HORRIBLE THE SHOW WAS ALLOVER THE PLACE ONE OF THE' WORST' CONCERT THIS YEAR THE GAME A NO SHOW I REALLY WANT MY MONEY BACK HONESTLY....
There was no set up. I was confused as to who the DJ was because everyone kept bringing laptops on stage before each performance. Nothing extravagant...I love T.I. but after it got to be 11:45 I walked out without seeing him. And Game wasn't even there!! Fat Joe & August Alsina put on a good show tho!!
By far the worst concert I ever been to. Random people on the stage, half the arena was empty, half the food and drink courts were closed and the main artist didn't show up!
The concert was fun in the beginning but started to doze off towards the middle end because the people on stage looked like they were stalling to be honest.
