About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • The Fray is not my taste, but....

    by Friend4321 on 9/3/18Resorts World Catskills - MonticelloRating: 4 out of 5

My ex-girlfriend , now friend, asked me to go with her. I went. I still like her, so I naturally obilged. I didn't even know who The Fray were. I looked them up. They're a band for chicks. Every guy in the place was there because of a girl they liked. That was obvious. I suppose that's what we should do. The lead singer was good. He engaged the audience. Got right into the crowd. If you like them, then you'd love the show. I wear hearing aids. With that, i was able to hear some of the misgivings of the music quality itself. I would blame that on the lack of a sound check. I think a sound check would have made it perfect. My final answer: Ladies, if you like them go see them. Guys, if a girl asks you to see them just go. It's not the end of the world. After a show at this venue you can go to the casino. Which was fun.

  • The fray was amazing

This was a great venue had a wonderful time. The staff at the venue was very friendly and even moved our seats because other people behind us were being loud and obnoxious. The sound was spectacular and although this was not stadium seating it was one of the most incredible concerts I've ever been to.

I have been a fan since 2005 and this was my first time seeing them. I feel as though no time has passed and I was back seeing them as a 16 year old girl! It was my dream come true!

  • I Love The Fray

by keodonnell8 on 5/4/17The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray is one of my favorite bands. I have loved them since the first time I heard them when I was a kid. This is my fourth time seeing them in concert and I try to see them whenever they are around my area. I love the music and their songs and they connect well with the crowd they also sound amazing and exactly the same live as they do on a reccording. I will say this last concert at Foxwoods was not my favorite. I was very dissapointed in the fact they only played for an hour. I have never been to a concert that short before and I feel like I got a little ripped off. They didn't even bring any of their merchandise with them. I was just confused as to why they missed so many songs and only played for an hour and wanted to know if it was possibly because of the venue that produced a different type of concert setting? Either way, this won't be the last time I see them but I wish the concert lasted longer because I never want it to end!

  • They could of played longer!

by heat304 on 5/3/17The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 3 out of 5

I have been to 5 The Fray shows, and have never been disappointed, This show they only played for an hour with no encore! When the lights went on after their set, myself and the people around me were shocked! Maybe they weren't feeling it that night, but I was really looking forward to hearing more songs. They will still be my all time fav band, however they could of gave the fans a bit more of their time, The drive to the venue was longer then show.

  • The Fray at Foxwoods was spot on

by dbrunett on 5/3/17The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 4 out of 5

Saw The Fray at Foxwoods' Grand Theater, which is a great smaller venue. They played all the favorites and sounded true to form. I've loved them for years and would love to see a new album come out!!! New music please!!!

  • Flawless, time after time.

by EmBee12 on 5/3/17The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 5th time seeing The Fray, second time in this same venue. As always, the band put together an incredible set introducing first timers to some of their newer stuff while giving a nod to loyal fans favorites. It's always exciting to see what b-side track they will perform, and this show they surprised us with two. If you ever have the chance to see The Fray do yourself a favor and be sure to take advantage of it they execute a remarkable show that I just can't get enough of.

I bought these tickets for my son-in law, a HUGE Fray fan. The show lasted one hour- he was extremely disappointed.

  • Wait....that's it???

by Joep73 on 5/3/17The Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 3 out of 5

The band was good as usual however it felt like the show was rushed. Not happy that they only played for an hour and 5 minutes plus there was no encore. I'm not sure if that was due to the venue or the band but an hour and 5 minutes is not enough when you are paying $60 a ticket. Pretty disappointed.

  • The fray were phenomenal

by Pranram on 12/5/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I loved every minute of this concert. American authors opened for them and they were just as good! Their setlist featured all their top songs, they sound just as they do on record and How to save a life and Rainy Zurich were just magical!! Would go to their concert again and again and again!!

  • Amazing concert

by Hjstar on 11/25/16Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray was awesome! Loved how they brought it in and made it more intimate for a few songs and also loved when they jammed out for a few songs!

  • The Fray

    by mar53 on 11/25/16Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 1 out of 5

I hate writing bad reviews but this concert was one of the most deafening experiences I've had. The American Authors were incredible and awesome in every way however when the Fray came out and played their first few songs I literally was blown away. Many people around me were covering their ears on and off through out the concert. Some including me, got ear plugs to survive the noise. Don't get me wrong, I love The Fray but this about did me in. I have seen many , many groups perform and never did I feel the volume was truly going to be detrimental to my hearing. I was afraid I would be damaged. So sad because they are so gifted and the volume distorted their songs entirely. I was so saddened by this.

  • American Authors stole the show!

by majacq on 11/25/16Rebel (Formerly known as Sound Academy) - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I am very happy that I purchased tickets for this show as I think this was one of my favourite live shows. It was an intimate atmosphere, which I really enjoyed because you felt closer to the artists, and ultimately the entire experience. I had not listened to a lot of their recent releases, for either The Fray or American Authors, but I knew their earlier stuff. However, this didn't impede my enjoyment of the show because I found that hearing the "new" songs live added even more to my experience. Both bands gave great live performances and I thoroughly enjoyed both. In my opinion though, American Authors stole the show because The Fray played a lot of slower songs which I found slightly depleted the energy in the room. All in all, I would recommend this show to a friend and I would most definitely pay only $50 to go again!

  • American Authors Great Fray not so Great

by frayreview on 11/25/16Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

American Authors sounded amazing. I hadn't heard much of their music before I saw them but I'm definitely a fan now. When the Fray took the stage I was really disappointed. Their sound was off. It was so loud and sounded like they needed more base and less treble. I was disappointed and left early.

  • Too loud terrible mix

    by Markus2001 on 11/25/16Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 1 out of 5

American authors that opens were great. The sound was clear and the band enjoyable. The Fray was terrible. Lackluster stage presence like they really didn't want to be there, bit the worst was the sound was way too loud. The made everything muddled and the sound was a mess. I wouldn't see The Fray again.

  • by Icantthinkofaname1234567 on 11/25/16Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 1 out of 5

I don't know if their sound guy was bad, they didn't so sound check, or if they think it sounded good but the show was terrible. The music was so loud it was like a rock concert resulting in the singer needing to try and over compensate making his voice sound terrible. We actually left early because we couldn't listen to it anymore. I love them and will continue to listen to their music but it seems like they may be one of the bands who just does not sound good live.

  • Went to See American Authors - Loved the Fray, too

by RamboNerd on 11/23/16The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was completely enthralling, which is good because we traveled from Tampa to see it! Afterwards, we were lucky enough to meet Isaac of The Fray, and most of American Authors! It was totally worth the trip for myself and my 5 year old son (he was the one who really wanted to go).
