    Okay was awesome

by Darla on 12/12/21Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

It was horrible, they turned us away at the door, I had a very small crossbody on and it was too big, made us take our purses to the car. Therefore trying to hold kids hands, our keys, wallets, etc. then get inside and your trying to carry drinks, refreshments and now purse, keys and shoes your kids hands! I will never go back to smart financial until something changes!!

    MUST WATCH SHOW!!

by itzonleekim on 12/12/21Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

This musical was so good and had such a good storyline. This show really brings out the spirit of Christmas. I will definitely watch it again next year.

    Great Show

by Greg on 12/12/21Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Both the show and venue were great and my daughters loved the experience. The venue staff were not as great. The concessions staff were very slow and seemed unprepared, while the ushers were not communicative of timing, resulting in almost half the audience being blocked from entering the hall and missing the opening number. When finally allowed in, they were upset and this was extremely disruptive with things not settling down until the second song. After that the show was excellent.

    Disappointing

by Surprised on 12/12/21Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

It was hard to enjoy the show as the venue allowed people to come in and out as much as folks wanted. There were many folks coming in to find their seats well into the event which was very distracting! The show was ok but again so much activity in the audience it was almost impossible to enjoy

    Very good

by Sue on 12/10/21Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

The performance was very good. I was with a 6 year old boy and an 8 year old girl, and they were completely involved and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The venue was great! Staff at the front door checking vaccines and tickets were pleasant and helpful. Vending had a good mix of items that were a little pricey, but not unusual for these types of events. All in all, a very good and fun experience!

    The Musical was very good...

by J. L. on 12/10/21Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

But the waiting for it to start (at least 15 minutes late) and the long intermission (25 minutes) made for some very antsy kids. Don't know that I will attend another that is supposed to be for kids.

    Elf on the shelf

by Linz on 12/10/21Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

It was good. The story was a bit too deep for a 5 year old. But the digital background was amazing. I wish there would have been a few more “locations”/ backgrounds. And the kids loved the dancing and singing when it was all the elves together.

    Magical experience

by Amberger79 on 12/10/21Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

We all loved it! Even dad, who is not into musicals, said it was terrific. Great fun for the whole family!

    Very Nice

by Lori on 12/10/21Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

I remember going to musicals with my mother when I was younger. My mom is no longer here and now that I have children, I want to keep some traditions alive. My children have never been to a live show so this was special for us. My children LOVED this show. Minus one star because of a customer mishap that should have been addressed and handled better by staff.

Just Okay, Surprised that it featured the Death of a Parent

    by B. W. on 12/6/21

I guess really big fans will love it. I was unaware that the play involved a family coping with the death of parent. Not exactly what I wanted to expose my four year old to as such a young age. I was also disappointed that there was no Santa in a kids Christmas play. Maybe it was more geared to teens and adults but it was certainly not focused on elementary age children. This play will not become a family tradition at our home.

    Family fun

by Paxtonia on 12/3/21Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

The musical ‘The Elf on the Shelf’ was a wonderful, fun show for old and young alike. My only complaint had nothing to do with the production but it was with the production company. Mandating masks at all times was unnecessary. The wearing of masks should be completely an individual choice.

    It was ok

by Elf Fan on 12/3/21Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

We just wish the play was based more off the original story. Even our kids said it wasn't very much like what they knew it to be.

    Outstanding

by Jackie on 12/3/21Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

The Elf on the Shelf was a beautiful Christmas Musical production. It was colorful, beautiful voices, fun and excitement for the kids and families. I liked the interaction with the audience too. Great Job!

    Mediocre

by Colleen on 12/2/21Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

We were so excited to take our 3 year old son to see this show. Our whole family went 7 of us. He loves Elf on a Shelf. While the actors in the show were fine, the storyline and music were completely different from the movie. There was no Chippy, no “Extravaganza Glorious” and NO SANTA! Disappointing.

    Excellent Presentation

by Medalist90 on 12/2/21Capital One Hall - Tysons

We loved the show…attendees…five aged 8-72…appropriate for all and well done.

    Meant for younger kids

by Lizzy on 12/1/21Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

The show was ok but it is meant for a younger audience. Although the littlest kids were having a hard time paying attention.

    Beautiful theatre, dancing & Singing

by Holly Elf on 12/1/21Capital One Hall - Tysons

I did love it for the most part. The part I did not love has to do with the actual story itself - with the children's father dying. That is a difficult concept for young children to understand and I'm sure in many cases, then required parents to need to explain about death. Divorce may have been a better route to go. Obviously, just my opinion. It did disappoint me when i early on realized that was where the story was going. Other than that, we enjoyed the show, and the acting, singing, and dancing was terrific! Also, the theatre was lovely and we look forward to more shows there in the future. Parking was not too fun :)
