Great time. However, when I purchased the tickets, Ticketmaster did not tell me we got tickets in the student section, which was quite loud and girls were constantly getting up and moving through the rows- very annoying. Overall, good Xmas present.

Took my dad to his first bean pot (actually both of our first beanpots) for his birthday. We've been to the Garden a million times but it was a little different. It was nice to see all of the families with their kids and the fan support from different schools. Both the concession and championship games were great and fun to watch. We had balcony seat tickets but since there were so many empty seats during the first game, we were able to sit closer to the ice.

What a great event each year. We hadn't been in 12 years and it was well worth it. It's like playoff hockey!!!

  • Immature hockey fun!

Beanpot is a classic! The college bands and student section rivalry and back and forth make for some entertaining, and distracting fun. The hockey is always top notch and this year 3 of the 4 games went to OT. Crowds are friendly no matter which team you root for.

Should have been able to pick our own seating area, wasn't asked if we needed handicap seating, our son didn't like being next to band but I found an area on 5th floor that was quiet n was asked if we wanted to watch from a room that was very nice

The game was great! Only issue was that the LED signs seemed to have a malfunction during the Harvard/Northeastern Game!

  • Beanpot Championship Game

by bodah on 2/13/13TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The Game between Northeastern and Boston College was thrilling. On paper, BC should have blown Northeastern out of the water. But they play the games for a reason. Each time that BC gained a comfortable lead, NU would come charging back. It was a thrilling contest, played before a very enthusiastic crowd.

As a huge fan of hockey, I wanted to make sure I made it to at least one Beanpot tournament. I've been to many Bruins games so I thought it would be great. First game, I sat up front and though the crowd wasn't as exciting, I still had a lot of fun! Second game, I sat up in the balcony and the crowd was REALLY exciting...maybe TOO exciting. There were belligerent college students everywhere. I guess that is to be expected but in my section alone, we witnessed people get thrown out because they were throwing peanuts. We also sat in front of four ~20 year olds who seemed to be TRYING to start a fight with people. Some people were just trying to enjoy the game and cheer but there were a lot of people who made that impossible. I still had a great time but we did end up leaving early from the second game because it was getting to be too much for us.

  • The Beanpot never disappoints.

One again the Beanpot Championship did not disappoint. An overtime victory in ice hockey is still the best moment in sport. As one team almost scores, the other team counters quickly down the ice with their own scoring chance. The only question is how many times will this happen before the puck is in the net. It does literally keeps you on the edge of your seat. Thanks again BC & BU. NU & Harvard, I look forward to your win in the championship game sooner rather than later...

  • Beanpot Final was a great hockey game

by FraminghamMA on 2/15/12TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Great atmosphere, well played game. Consolation was disappointing. The play wasn't as fast or as highly skilled as the Final, but it would have been OK if the crowd had been better. The building looked, felt, and sounded empty. If I remember correctly, the tickets were a flat price, and these seats should definitely have been offered at a discount. I see no reason why the seats can't have tiered pricing like regular hockey games. I felt these seats were poor value, but I might have been willing to pay more for better seats -- or not have felt so ripped off because I paid a flat fee when there were better seats that were either unsold or at least unoccupied.
