HI-LAR-EE-OUS." - Chicago Magazine

The Doyle & Debbie show - featuring all-original songs - is sublime homage and parody, simultaneously idolizing and lampooning country music's tradition of iconic duos and the battle of the sexes that accompany them.  Bruce Arntson and Jenny Littleton take audiences on a freewheeling joyride through a wickedly funny script and score - all delivered with utmost sincerity.

    Doyle and Debbie Show

by Luminairy on 2/15/12Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Boy those two can sing! The lines they were singing appeared to be rather clever but much of the time could not understand the punchline. Also, I get that the C&W women singers highlite their cleavage-(how do ya gently say this- somethin' in that dept with Deb seemed a little unstable..Whew!) I felt a little sorry for her as the play went on -the sexist comments from Doyle; the asking for it from Debbie. It struck me as sad-and I thought it was a comedy. I might have thought I was being too sensitive but judging how the predominatley older male audience were chuckling and gawking I am right on. It was like being in a hooters.

Haven't laughed that hard in ages. Doyle and Debbie are so talented. Songs are extremely clever. The small theater adds to the performance. If you love traditional country music, you'll love this spoof.

The Doyle & Debbie Show is fantastic

by Dycusburg on 2/13/12Royal George Theatre - Chicago

One of the reviews I read said that to best parody something, you need to be as good or better than the people you're parodying. This show does that. They have amazing voices and you can tell they love country music and the people they're poking fun at. Really beautiful show and much more subtle than you might imagine.

The Doyle & Debbie Show is a hoot!

by JGMB on 2/12/12Royal George Theatre - Chicago

This show was hilarious, plus the 2 main characters actually can sing well! It's a little on the raunchy side, so not for kids or those who offend easily. But, my family and I are still laughing about it 2 days later and we bought the CD so that we can hear all of those funny lyrics again and again.

Doyle and Debbie was a good parody of c/w music

by dpu62 on 2/12/12Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The lyrics and the facial expressions were hilarious. The back and forth among Buddy, Doyle and Debbie made me sit and listen carefully. We all laughed a lot and some day I'd like to go the the Station Inn in Nashville and see the realy Doyle and Debbie, if indeed they exist. I hope they do!

Hilarious and just raunchy enough! All good seats in a small theater. We loved every song in it!

    Doyle and Debbie Show

We found this show to be entertaining at the Hot Tix price, but not for the regular price of $50. Doyle was very funny.

    Over rated

by cantputt on 1/28/12Royal George Theatre - Chicago

We were dissappointed in the show as it was not as good as all the hype about it. There were only two songs that were entertaining, the rest were just stupid. I'm a country music fan and realize this was suppose to be a spoof on country music, but it just wasn't good. My wife and I couldn't understand how it was rated so highly and described as "hilarious".
