The Dollop is a US history podcast with comedian hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds. History buff Dave decided to turn his hobby into a podcast. Each episode he reads one weird and disturbing story from the American past to Gareth, who has never heard the tale. I have listened to Dave Anthony in walking the room and I have been listening to the Dollop from episode one. I have listened to Dave and Gareth on other podcasts and the chemistry of them together is just so enjoyable. I’ll listen to them on other shows but the Dollop is magic. In person the experience is the same as you hear on the podcast but it was so infectious to be around other fans laughing to tears. Such a large turnout even though there were Covid restrictions, clearly lots if people knew it would be worth it and speaking of worth, the tickets were only 35 bucks. If you have a chance to go to a live show, don’t miss it!

My face hurt from laughing

Dave has obviously put in a lot of work finding obscure and interesting tidbits from the past. He delivers a good story with plenty of snark and sarcasm. Gareth's quick wit and sometimes silly banter was a perfect match. I had a great time!

I wish that the Barrymore would have let people in sooner or had more lines open to enter the building since there was still a huge line outside 5 minutes before showtime.

It was clear where to go (the theater is in a gov’t building), ushers were nice, and of course the show was excellent! The bar line was super long, and I did hear lots of complaints about that (why wouldn’t you prepare for a busy bar when it’s a comedy show?) but I opted to skip the line and just enjoy the show.
