Just an incredible performance. May be the best concert I've ever attended.

Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 5/2/10Apollo Theater - New York This woman has amazing pipes and and some fancy moves. The Dapkings are also incredible.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 5/1/10Apollo Theater - New York Phenomenal. SJ & DK of course lay down the retro grooves, but when you see them live, it's at another level. Tight. Pocket. Wild.

by blazing08850 on 5/1/10Apollo Theater - New YorkThe opening act was cool, and then when the main act came out they rocked the Apollo. People were getting up and dancing in their seats. Sharon brought up a few men and a few women to dance with and it was great. She gives 200% and i would highly recommend to see this show and to buy her new cd. It was the best.

by dave66 on 12/12/09The National - RichmondWhat a band, what a lady, what energy. 2 hours of relentless funk and soul with audience participation. Sharon is a remarkable performer and gracious artist. A must see show for those uninitiated.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 12/12/09The National - Richmond The sound problems early were a pain for Sharon and the audience, but just as true pros should, they pulled it out. Great band, great concert.

by jacreha on 12/12/09The National - RichmondThis show was awesome. Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings delivered a funky, high energy, totally fun show that was ripe with amazing music and danceable tunes, and totally free of raunchy-ness. I had a great time and will definitely see them again!
Rating: 5 out of 5by Bloodhoney on 12/7/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville Sharon is like James Brown, Tina Turner and Otis Redding wrapped up into one woman. Her energy is amazing. Her strength unmatched.

by MamaMisa on 12/7/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleMy Second time seeing Miss Sharon Jones, the first being Valentine's day '09 at the Nokia Theater, and I never thought she could top that performance but she did! This smaller venue really worked for Miss Jones who is a non-stop ball of fire dancing up and down the stage with the energy of an internal nuclear power plant! The DAP Kings were on their game as always and looking as a Dapper man should! If you want to see a show where you find yourself unconciously groovin' the entire time, Miss Sharon Jones and the DAP Kings will take you there...and then some!

by ratbbb2 on 12/6/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleI am not be a Professional Critic by any stretch of the imagination But have gone to 100s of shows from Elton John in Central Park to Everclear In a local bar down the Jersey shore. Not to mention all the Joe Jackson, Patti Smith, Ben Folds,.... shows I try not to miss. But this show has to rank in my top 20 if not further down in the 10s. Energy to light up the place and a special sense of being old friends with these guys and gal. Wow what a night . Didn't need to drink to get dancing with these folks I highly recommend it to anyone who loves pop music as will as Old School Soul

by NaMorrigan on 12/6/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleSharon Jones is a powerful entertainer. She and the Dap Kings give a performance in the soul tradition of Otis Redding and James Brown. It's music to shake your money maker to ~ and you wish they would go all night.
