THE DAN BAND IN CONCERT:

The Dan Band has carved a unique niche for itself at the intersection of music and comedy, combining equal parts humor and chops to achieve their pitch-perfect pop culture send-ups. Known for their histrionic, tongue-in-cheek covers of traditionally female-fronted power anthems, comedian Dan Finnerty and his hilarious backup duo have become a comedy circuit favorite and late-night talk show staple. The Dan Band is a live act first and foremost — their 2005 debut album was a live album — and there's no better way to experience them than on their 2014 tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The brainchild of actor and comedian Dan Finnerty, the Dan Band got their start in LA's comedy club scene, where they were hailed as the "hottest ticket in town" by Entertainment Weekly. After making several high-profile cameos in comedy blockbusters like The Wedding Planner (2001) and Old School (2003), the band released their 2005 debut album The Dan Band Live. The album was a hit, featuring parodies of pop culture subjects including Shakira ("Whenever Wherever/Hips Don't Lie") and bubblegum pop ("Genie In a Bottle/No Scrubs/Slave 4 U") and setting the tone for their future live shows. As the band hits the road for another gut-busting tour in 2014, no topic is off-limits, and fans wouldn't have it any other way.

    This was one of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever attended. They were very entertaining with high energy the entire time. Dan is funny and a great performer and the two back up dancers/singers were awesome. If they are in your area I would definately recommend you see them.

    It was a guy holding an ipod in the background with one singing?!?!?!?!?! I figured it would be something more than that since the tickets were $40.00 each......

    The Dan Band was exactly what you would expect. They were funny and very entertaining. Their theme was "Women" so all of their songs were their versions of popular female singers and groups. There was quite a bit of audience interaction and humor. My only negative comment and the only reason, I didnt give 5 stars is that the show seemed very short. Maybe just over an hour or less then 1.5 hours or sure. Otherwise, a very entertaining show. We also were not thrilled with our seats at the venue. We paid double to have a table and seats, but the standing room only crowd was directly in front of our table so none of us could see so we had to stand the whole time. However, that had nothing to do with band as they were great!

    The concert was approx. 1.5 hours so I was disappointed in that. But the Dan Band performed like it was thier first show, after I ran into one of the back ups and Dan Finnerty who took a picture with me. They seem like normal guys who hit some good luck and they seem grateful for the fans.

    I have been watching Dan Band clips on Youtube as well as the wedding scene in Old School non-stop in preparation for the show. I was not disappointed at all! From the start through the encore, the action, music, and entertainment was full throttle! Shame on you if you wanted to go and didn't, if Dan Band ever comes back to town, buy the tickets and get the full experience.

    Entertaining. Funny. The guys can sing women power ballads, and sing em well! Saw his show a few years ago and glad to see they have added a few new tracks. Looking forward to a possible return on April 2nd.
