    WOW!!!

by Anonymous on 12/10/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

AMAZING!!! This performance was SO well done. After reading the book I wondered how they would be able to portray the main character's thinking in a theater format. BRAVO - so well done! Was also impressed by how well the character's unique personality was performed without overacting or being offensive. After the standing ovation, I was however disappointed that the cast used this opportunity to do a fund raiser for aids while clearly this would have been a perfect opportunity to support autism awareness.

The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time

by GirlWhoLovesGoats on 12/7/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I had read the book prior to attending this performance; I don't know if it would have had as much impact if I hadn't. I couldn't imagine how they were going to translate the story to the stage, but it was unique, creative and told the story beautifully. I would recommend it to anyone who has a family member on the spectrum, or knows someone that does. That pretty much covers all of us, now doesn't it?

Took my 17 year old son. It was his idea to go. He had read the book in 5th grade when my book club was reading it. We both enjoyed every part of the play. We had some great discussions on the drive home about parenting roles. We both enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for the fantastic experience with my son.

Theater Extraordinaire Theater at its finest

by KEKGirl on 12/7/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

This was one of the most amazing, incredible, innovative and uplifting productions that I have seen in a long time. Check it out! (Thanks, mom, for the fun date!) And the production quality of the stage, lighting and choreography was awesome! I wish it was still in town for another week so I can see it again.

    Simply Amazing

So true to the book! This show was amazing and one of the best stage plays I have ever been to. The staging and electronics, etc. are incredibly creative and the acting is top notch.

    Very funny about autistic people

    by Couch4 on 12/6/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I thought it matched the book, all about the book, not as detailed as the one in new York, not as much rain sound effects and not as much furniture used

    Great Play

    by Keen001 on 12/6/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

We have an son with Asperger's Syndrome. This play did such a great job of showing the mind of an autistic person. We could relate so many of the actions and reactions to the behavior of our son.

    This will change your life

by aarontbode on 12/5/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I have seen a lot of live theater in my life, but this particular show was one of the most insightful, visually entertaining, and touching productions I have ever experienced. It's one of those pieces of art where you leave the theater with an understanding of how to be a better human being. If that's not worth the ticket price, I don't know what is.

    Curiously Painful

by Mommaoftwos on 12/5/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The sound effects and lighting were painful. The stage was rather drab. I understand that was intentional. The actors did a fine job. I just didn't care for it.

    Outstanding visual effects!

by iowamnmusic on 12/4/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The stage production followed the book quite well. The technical elements were great and helped make each scene believable. Although the subject matter was quite serious, there was well placed humor. Well acted and enjoyable. I would see this production again.

    Achieves the improbable

    by docjack55417 on 12/4/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Our son is on the autism spectrum and is severely affected. We read the book when it came out and were very moved. Like most people, we could not see how this story could be adapted to the stage. They not only adapted the story without significant modification, they have represented the unfamiliar workings of Christopher's mind as well as his behaviors and the interactions with his parents and the community in an absolutely authentic way. The story keeps the perspective of the affected teenager while exposing the difficulty of his parents and larger community in coping with him. The design and staging eliminate the familiar structure of our world and present the events as they might appear in his. This is a finely crafted theatrical gem.

    Disappointed

by EllenDadmirer on 12/4/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I am sure this play would be much more relevant if autism was something we had to deal with - thank goodness our kids and friends do not have this. While we could feel very empathetic for the parents and Christopher, the loud almost constant vibe in this was at the least disconcerting. Also I felt the story was not that interesting and the characters not fleshed out enough. I'm sure the Tony awards are well deserved, but I did not enjoy.

Excellent acting. The performers were really "in to" their parts. The lighting and sound were fantastic and an equal part to the actors to deliver the overall performance. It is obvious the lead actor has put A LOT of effort into learning the mannerism of the autistic child he played. It was stunning. The lighting and sound did a great job of creating for the audience the confusion and overload often felt by autistic children.

Hard to understand some of the characters.

by JRandRRR on 12/4/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Beautiful set. Christopher was fantastic but much of the rest of the cast were not up to the standards I have come to expect at the Orpheum. I did finally see where they were doing the closed captioning which helped understand what the narrator character was saying.

    A must see!

by partera on 12/2/16Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The best play I've seen in a long time! The production and stage was amazing and the lead actor had me convinced that he was actually Christopher. I attended with my 18 year old son, he loved it. We laughed, cried, cheered! Wow
