The Clairvoyants on Tour
Mentalist duo the Clairvoyants — comprised of Austria natives Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass — are living proof that magic is real. Just ask anyone who saw the engaging couple compete on Season 11 of ‘America's Got Talent': Ten served as a raconteur-like ringmaster, as van Tass executed multiple mind-reading exercises. At one point, she precisely guessed the number of jelly beans in a glass, despite being blindfolded; at another point, she was somehow able to write out info from ‘AGT' judge Simon Cowell's credit card while being submerged in a water tank.
The Clairvoyants had plenty of performance practice before these television appearances. After first teaming up in 2011, the pair landed a slot on Jeff Hobson's The Illusionarium, which played on the Norwegian Getaway, and then on the touring magic extravaganza The Illusionists. Thanks to this work, the pair won the "World Champions of Mentalism" award at 2015's Championships of Magic.
Yet the Clairvoyants' ‘America's Got Talent' appearance (and subsequent second-place finish) led to even bigger and better things: The duo performed in Las Vegas with Season 11 ‘AGT' winner Grace VanderWaal, and also joined the cast of Broadway's ‘The Illusionists: Turn of the Century' in late 2016. In fact, the Clairvoyants were even dubbed Stage Magicians of the Year 2016 by the Academy of Magical Arts and the legendary Magic Castle Hollywood. This momentum has only increased, as the duo frequently tour the U.S., including for a festive 2018 Christmas trek.
The pair is impossibly cool and collected under pressure, even as tricks ramp up in difficulty and intensity. This almost-nonchalant attitude adds delicious tension to the Clairvoyants' brain-bending live performances — which, as on ‘AGT,' are full of eye-popping magic tricks and mind-reading, all coupled with opportunities for audience participation. Suspending disbelief is certainly a must, although with performances this well-crafted and entertaining, it's easy to let your imagination run wild.
Loved this show!! Mouth-dropping! How do they do that?? I've always wanted to find out 'how' but we never will! It wouldn't be a 'Show'.... LOL! I enjoyed the "Box" - - THAT was Amazing! The card tricks, etc., etc., etc.... and I loved their little dog! What a cutie!
Very enjoyable show, makes you ask "how did they do that"....but the venue could have improved its audio and video. The microphone wasn't working occasionally.
Show was okay, they only performed for 1:10, could of been a little longer, some of the tricks they used were from AGT, time for a reboot, would see them again.
Finally got to see them after their show was canceled two years ago. They are a beautiful and extremely talented couple who put on a great show. There was a lot of audience participation as well.
It’s more of a magic show. Disappointed in the performance, very basic and even included their dog. Seemed more like county fair level than a Las Vegas level entertainment.
They were absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to see them again. They compliment each other very well. I don’t know how they do what they do. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they were. By far one of my favorite shows ever!
We have seen Amelie and Tommy four times and each time we leave smiling, enjoying the entire show and experience!!! They present themselves as a couple you would love to have dinner with— and you want go see again and again!!! Do not miss them when they come to your area.
The Clairvoyants are simply amazing - awe-inspiring! I kept telling myself that I know there's got to be a trick to what they to, but, honestly, they are so good I'm ready to accept that Amelie indeed does possess the ability to read people's minds! You have to see them in person to understand how real it all seems. I'd see them again in a heartbeat!
We had great seats for an unbelievable experience the clairvoyants were an amazing act. Our jaws were on the floor most of the night as we cold not believe what we were seeing. Would definitely go see them again if they are back in Our area
Very good show. Entertaining! Fun! And mind blowing
Having only seen The Clairvoyants for a few minutes at a time on AGT, I was not sure how their act would hold up for an entire show. Boy, was I wrong! The show kept me riveted and entertained the entire time. I was confident that seeing them in person and close-up, I would be able to figure out how they did some of their tricks. But, I was unable to figure anything out, even though they were just a few feet away from me at times. The show is beyond entertaining, with lots of audience participation and variations on the acts shown on AGT. I will go back whenever they come to a venue near me.
The show was great and the staff was too. Also parking was a breeze.
Our first time at this venue—Hollywood Casino at Charles Town, West Virginia. The seating was terrible. There are only chairs attached to each other with no arms to separate people. Thus everyone is jammed together, thighs touching thighs, arms touching arms, of the people on either side of you. The Clairvoyants were wonderfully entertaining, however, the cramped in sardines-in-a-can seating detracted from enjoying their performance. I will never attend another event at this venue. It’s obvious the arrangement of the seating was designed for how many people can be squeezed into this room and not for any thought of comfort.
This was a great show! it is very entertaining and love how they get the audience involved. I still cant figure out how they do it.
This show was so much fun. I would love to see them again. They should have won AGT.
They should have won Americas Got Talent!!!! They are outstanding and unequaled.
Clairvoyants did a great job of interacting with the crowd. Excellent illusions.
At the beginning and past midway the show was very slow, repetitive with the audience. After midway the girl got involved and picked up a but.
Truly amazing. They’re just as amazing in person as they are on television. Am interactive experience with humor, amazement, and wonder.
This is a small venue where you can see everything. Performers were excellent and lots of audience interaction and participation. Loved this show.
