  • Timely material

by DrJoe on 2/4/25Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Very talented performers in song, mimicry, writing, acting. Hilarious from start to finish. The material was up to date and the satire was perfect.

  • The Best

by Cindy S on 2/4/25Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

Extreme talent and so original. Can’t stop laughing as they perform their politically inspired thoughts and songs. You will never regret going!

  • Missed Political Satire During Covid

by Numbers on 2/4/25Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 4 out of 5

I was very happy about the longer format vs. the Capitol Steps shorter program. The skits were close to the Capitol Steps sharp wit - but was not as sharp as in the past, especially given the rich sources coming from DC. I missed the old skit with the American Indian that was a repeat with the old group. But our group was quite happy coming back to see political satire again that was balanced.

  • So so. Room for improvement

by OCDW on 11/4/24Bardavon 1869 Opera House - PoughkeepsieRating: 3 out of 5

Some clever lyrics but tired old tunes. Wigs and imitations of characters not so good. No story line to pull skits together.

  • Left at intermission

by Lisa on 11/4/24Bardavon 1869 Opera House - PoughkeepsieRating: 3 out of 5

Left at intermission. Did not think it was very funny, although many in the audience were clearly really enjoying the show. We are in our 60s and were some of the youngest people there. Humor seemed aimed at an older audience

  • Capitol Fools - The Perfect Therapy for Pre-Election Anxiety

by Charlie on 11/2/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

The Phoenix from Capitol Steps has risen. My friends and I found the show to be way funnier than we had ever anticipated. What a welcome relief from today's politics. We needed a show like this. YOU need to see these talented funny actors.. WELCOME BACK and come back real SOON, We love you.

  • Laughed so hard I cried.

Laughed so hard I cried. Fresh, topical, lively. Superb writing and wonderful musical performances! Can't wait for next time!

  • Funniest show I have seen in the last year.

by Carolyn on 2/6/24Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was great because all the seats had a great view of the stage. The Capital Fools were so funny. I laughed the whole time.

  • As always, outstanding!!

Three generations of my family have been thoroughly enjoying and laughing out loud at the Capitol Fools (previously the Capitol Steps) for many years. Their always-timely material never disappoints, and their shows have become an annual highlight to help us slog through the winter doldrums. Great thanks to the cast, accompanist and writers!

  • An evening full of laughs re all politicians!

by Grandma7 on 9/22/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The troupe of 6 did an outstanding job of entertaining the crowd. Laughs were almost constant. We had attended two Capitol Steps shows in previous years and this was at least equal if not better. Maybe due to the current subjects? The woman who performed as Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and Greta Grunberg was spot on. One of the funniest characters was that of Bob Dylan; love Bob but the actor nailed his persona! Great seats at a very reasonable price.

  • They were awesome.

LOVED the show!! Several laugh out loud moments. Mrs. said she almost fell out of her seat. Would LOVE to see it again or know their schedule to recommend to friends. Equal opportunity poking parties.Four thumbs up to go with the 5 stars.
