    Fantastic...again!!

by BigBandGeek on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

The Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Extravaganza is as much of a tradition in my family as too many desserts and a tree in the middle of our living room. Whether you're a fan of his rockabilly hits with The Stray Cats or the awesome work he's done with the BSO over the past 25 years, you'll find what you're looking for here. In the midst of the usual Christmas tunes and retrospective of his long career, Brian threw in a tribute to Glen Campbell and Tom Petty that recognized the loss of these two musical innovators in a very classy manner without actually mentioning either one of them. This annual show is one of the best entertainment values I've ever experienced. Three generations of my family loved every second of the Extravaganza this year!

    Brian Setzer concert

by old0fart on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

Staff very friendly and helpful. Venue is fine but need to keep in mind there is ice below the floor so it is pretty cool. Sat on floor-- good seats-- somewhat tight. Setzer's band went on an hour and a half after start time. Warm up band which did zero for us. Not being regular concert goers, this was disappointing. He puts on a great show-- big band, great music, but extremely loud. Had to leave before it was over-- literally could not take the decibel level. Got close up seats to see better, not to get ears cleaned out. Was not aware we would be in front of the speakers. Oh well. No doubt most people didn't have a problem with it.

    Guitar Christmas!

by Rockerwannabe on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Christmas show is a yearly tradition at my house. This marks the 6th time we’ve seen this show, and we’re already anticipating next year’s show. Although it’s billed a “Christmas Show” there are plenty of “non-Christmas” good times as well. For an 8-year trombone player, like myself (5th grade throughout 12th) I always love to see a concert where the “band kids” get to take front stage. Yes, Brian lets his trumpet, woodwind and of course, trombone players “rock the house” with a swing sound that I even think my Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman loving father would have appreciated. Of course, Brian pays homage to the tunes that put him on MTV back in the days with the Stray Cats standards, STRAY CAT STRUT and ROCK THIS TOWN. Even though I’m a former horn blower, my favorite part of the show is the rockabilly set where the horn blowers get to rest their lips, and Brian rock’s the place with his drummer, bass player, and piano player which is a bit of show within itself. Of course, Brian Setzer could be playing 70’s disco tunes for all I care. He is such a master of the guitar, that a wannabe guitar player like myself can just set in awe thinking, “How does he do that?” There’s plenty of Christmas tunes to be heard though. My favorite being ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH. At the end of the show, Brian hung around to sign a few things for the devoted fans that rushed the stage. Such things included a Gretsch guitar and an old Stray Cats 8 track. Yes, devoted fans. Being a devoted fan myself, I’ll be there again next year. This is the only show that I can say rivals the Trans-Siberian Orchestra to heighten my Christmas spirit. Rock on Mr. Setzer!

Really helps get you into the Christmas spirit!

by JingleBelleTX on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

The show was wonderful. Brian Setzer and the orchestra really look like they enjoy performing the music. The two back-up singers were having so much fun, I wanted to join them. The show would have been so much more enjoyable however, if the two people in front of us did not have their cell phones over their heads video taping the show. Very Very ANNOYING. Please people. You bought tickets for a show, ENJOY IT! Note for Allen Event Center - Maybe you could have a special section for the ANNOYING people that want to just record the show. They can all sit together with their glowing screens and see how much they like the distraction.

    Gets better every year!

by Rubberguy on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

Setzer came back to the Allen EC and the show was awesome! We invited a couple of friends and they're planning on the show for next year. He added a couple songs from the late great Glenn Campbell and Tom Petty that were performed perfectly. He even hung around and signed an 8 track tape from the Stray Cats! Can't wait til next year!

Brian Seitzer was great but... the opening band , Texas Gentelmen, was terrible! Too loud, too long and off key.

Rockin' Around the Allen Event Center

by Yoda74 on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

This was my 2nd time to see Brian Setzer's Christmas review. You seldom see a concert with the typical guitarist, bass (stand up), keyboards, drums and backup singers, but rarely do you see those 6 joined by 13 horns. The brass section was dynamic, Brian's playing and vocals were spot on and the Allen Event Center offered really good acoustics. A fun night for all who were there.

    Brian Setzer

by ChristmasBill on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

Brian and his orchestra brought a lot of energy Tuesday night. Just with the crowd ,which was older, would've given him his due. Brian played a mix of Christmas, stray cats tunes along with dedication songs to Glen Campbell and Tom Petty, very nice touch. I would go again and again to here Brian play.

Great show! Energetic and engaging. Liked that It included a few of the old “Stray Cats” songs. The encore of the Nutcracker music made for a great ending. Enjoyed watching someone perform that looked like they loved what they were doing. Mr. Setzer even signed a few autographs at the end. The venue was great and easy to get around, from parking to the show itself. Would really like to see a more centralized DFW location. Will definitely go to his show the next time he is in the DFW area!

    Great Show!

by LewX on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

The BSO at Allen Events Center was a lot of fun, as usual. Setzer and his Orchestra know how to put on a spectacular show and make it a fun night for everyone. Even though it is a "Christmas" show, it is always a mixture of holiday tunes, swing, R&R and Rockabilly. That being said, this year seemed to be a little lighter on the Christmas songs than in years past. I kind of wish there were more of them and less of the other stuff. It's not a major problem though, it was an incredibly fun night and I'm already looking forward to going again next year!

    BSO Christmas

by Coolyaya on 12/15/17Allen Event Center - Allen

The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s Christmas show was fabulous! If you are not familiar with BSO, think Jerry Lee Lewis rolled together with the Glen Miller Band. A rockin’ good time! We would definitely see them again!
