About

THE BOXER REBELLION IN CONCERT:

Indie rockers the Boxer Rebellion have been wowing audiences around the world with their infectious collection of hits since their inception in 2001. The band mixes emotive lyrics and catchy guitar riffs with hard-hitting drums and the crooning of frontman Nathan Nicholson to create a driving rock sound that plays out perfectly live. They shred out fan favorites like "The Runner" alongside the popular track "Diamonds" from 2013's Promises with immense energy, and fans can't help but clap and sing along to their hit-filled sets on their thrilling live tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Boxer Rebellion formed in London when Nashville, Tennessee, native Nathan Nicholson moved to the UK on a whim in 2000 and met Australian Todd Howe soon after. They were joined by London Music School grads Adam Harrison on bass and Piers Hewitt on drums, and after spending few years honing their craft the band earned an opening gig on A Perfect Circle's 2003 tour. They released their full-length debut Exits in 2005, but it wasn't until four years later that they truly broke out with the hugely popular album Union. The record spawned several popular tracks that were featured in major television series and films, earning the baqnd rave reviews from critics and fans alike and putting them on the map as an indie rock force to be reckoned with. Two more acclaimed albums followed -- The Cold Still (2011) and Promises (2013) -- drawing the band out for extensive worldwide touring in support of the releases. The Boxer Rebellion continues to deliver one unforgettable set after another on their high-octane tours.

    Interesting

I noticed that there are no Chinese members of the band, Boxer Rebellion. Why is that?

    Boxer Rebellion was the greatest!!

by CricketluvsTBR on 6/16/12El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Didn't really get into Canon Blue. Typical indie band that left me bored and disinterested. I've been a TBR fan for years, but this was my first time seeing them live. What a great experience. TBR is actually better live. They performed songs from Exits, Union, and almost all of The Cold Still. Such a great show!! I can't wait until they return.

This event will not be forgotten!

by MonetOtis on 6/12/12El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Firstly, this venue was just perfect for this type of band. It was small enough to be intimate, yet allowed for enough standing room and room to move around. The opener "Canon Blue" was great! I usually can't wait for the opener to get off the stage but this band was really good. As for TBR. I can honestly say, that without a doubt, this was the best live show that I have ever been to. Their stage presence was phenomenal and Nathan Nicholson (the lead) has the most beautiful voice. I had been following the band for a little less than a year and I loved their studio recordings. But after seeing them live I have a whole new respect for them. All I can say is you have NOT heard this band until you have heard them live. I vowed to myself to see them every time they come to LA. It was just that good.

    Amazing!!

by Showtm on 5/2/12Brighton Music Hall - Boston

I first heard this band in a movie and have been hooked ever since! They have such a unique sound, moving lyrics, sometimes haunting vocals that grab you in the gut and most songs, well you just cant sit still. They gave a great show and hung around after to talk with their fans. They are a group of cool guys that are also down to earth. Absolutely a must see! They said they are planning on coming back here again next year.

    Truly Haunting!

by Spaceroamer on 5/2/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

First of, great start by Canon Blue as I've never heard of their band before, but they sure did set the atmosphere for a great night. Before The Boxer Rebellion came on the set, I was worried that they might only sing songs from the current or most latest album The Cold Still, but that wasn't the case at all. They were pretty well rounded in terms of the songs they sung as they played some from their Union and Exits album, that's right, Exits album. which was truly a surprise. They also involved the crowd pretty well as Nathan encourage the crowd to sing the song Soviet along with him. It was nice to know that Nathan's favorite song is Caught by the Light and the band managed to do a cover song as well, but couldn't figure out which song it was. Overall, great performance, great music, and great set. I Highly Recommend for anyone who's a fan of The Boxer Rebellion and their type of music.

    Great show!

by Coldplayluver1 on 5/2/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

The Roxy Theatre is a great location for any band to play but the Boxer Rebellion had a great setlist that made it really fun! One of the bands that opened for them, We Are Augustines, were amazing and got everyone really pumped! The Boxer Rebellion were really fun to watch and sounded just like the cd. After the concert they took pictures with everyone and signed shirts and posters which I thought was really nice of them. It was a great concert! I would recommend seeing The Boxer Rebellion, or We Are Augustines, or just go to the Roxy for fun! It's a great venue.

    Boxer Rebellion- fantastic show!!

by 1gilbert on 5/2/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

I bought tickets for this show for 10 people. I liked the venue and of course, I was overwhelmed at Boxer Rebellion. I believe this band can only go up. It was a great show. Very polished and came to play. I would be very interested in seeing them again if they're playing in the Southern California area. We reserved a booth and really enjoyed everything about our evening at the Roxy. I saw Boxer Rebellion in the movie "long distance" and just had to see if they were real and what schedule they might have. Fortunately, they came to California. I can't wait to see them again. Can you get me some great tickets?

    Boxer Rebellion Knock Out Show

by Theatrica on 4/24/11The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

Hi-voltage show despite sweltering sauna conditions - Boxer Rebellion as good live as on their latest record The Cold Still. Incredible song after song finished off by a three song encore. Kudos to opening act We Are Augustines for scintillating set.

We Are Augustines & Boxer Rebellion killed it!

by SVA828 on 4/19/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

What a night. So much energy for two incredible bands. We Are Augustines kicked off the night with an amazing set of lively songs that had many in the crowd dancing. My favorite songs were Book of James, Chapel Song and their closing song. I can't wait for their album to come out. The Boxer Rebellion then came on with a killer show. I just couldn't get enough and wished that the night wouldn't end. Everyone must buy their new album.

The Boxer Rebellion is, quite simply, one of the greatest shows you will ever see. They will blow your mind. And, lucky for you, they are on tour with We Are Augustines, who are amazing as well.
