Loved the venue- beautiful job renovating

by Local resident on 12/5/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

If I had known I would have to watch on a tv screen, I would not have bought tickets in Elle’s living room. As a first time guest I did not know views were obstructed. This should be noted when you are buying tickets. I would not sit in this location again for a show.

    Great Show

by 4U21 on 8/15/18The Event Center at Hollywood Casino - Charles Town

This was an awesome experience. First time seeing the Blind Boys and although they are much older, they performed with the energy and spirit of much younger performers. Truly great men of God!

    Blind Boys of Alabama

by GreenMtnBulldog on 8/15/18The Event Center at Hollywood Casino - Charles Town

The loss of Clarence Thompson was missed but Jimmy Carter makes up for any loss of inertia. We loved the show and the only regret was it ended too soon. They have defined cool before most people every understood what it meant. So happy they performed their Amazing Grace rendition but the new songs were really great and we just loved Jimmy Carter making the sales pitch. The seats at the venue were a little uncomfortable and tight but the process, parking, temp, sound all were excellent. Remember a bit of an older crowd of course so some a little edgy about standing and video shooting with mobile phone. Bitter party of one near us.

Great show by Blind Boys and New Orleans All Stars

by Aliceinfact on 7/25/18Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

A star lineup of New. Orleans musicians and the still-dancing older gentlemen gave the alive--and still-dancing--audience a great evening!

    Great show

by shiend on 7/25/18Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

Required to attend a concert for music appreciation. This was my first time to the Orpheum Theater, and I was very impressed with the setup. Although this isn't the music we typically listen to, we did very much enjoy the concert and the music. I would surely attend again if given the chance.

    Blind Boys were Legendary

    by Mema2018 on 2/20/18American Theatre - Hampton

We didn't know what to expect. Had never experienced Gospel Music before. It was so very entertaining, spiritual, & got us out of our seats! A performance that we will always remember.

    Great show

by Ance on 2/20/18American Theatre - Hampton

It was the second time I have seen the Blind Boys in concert. They do not disappoint. It was mostly new music with the same energy as I remember it. How do they do it? All I can say is their music keeps them young and alive with grace, love and praise. Being in the beautiful and small venue of the American Theatre was also perfect for this group. If they come back, I will too!

    Disappointing

by Samplake on 12/5/17Shubert Theatre - New Haven

The show was short and, I believe, exploitative of the performers.

They harmonize very well. The speaker of the Boys is very funny and has some great stories.

    The Blind Boys of Alabama

by BobSATX on 3/3/16Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San Antonio

The overall show was fine and entertaining. The only disappointment was that the Dirty Dozen Brass Band only had seven members and no trombone players. They were still good.

    Opening act was deafening!

by CZ79 on 2/28/16Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San Antonio

Could not stand the opening act! It was deafening. The rhythm was fine but to play trumpets direct into microphone so loud it caused your ear drums to vibrate and then to scream direct into microphones making the words incomprehensible we finally had enough and left. Ushers handing out ear plugs was interesting but not helpful. Missed the Blind Boys of Alabama which was a shame!
