About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

Perfect length and set list for me. Amazing vocals!

by Perfect for me. on 4/22/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

A few people complained about length if show and set list but i loved it. 1 1/2 hours, play the hits and get on down the road. I don’t need 3 hours of long guitar solos and blues jams. Chris’ voice was off the charts great. Really amazing his his pipes are better than ever. If i had one complaint it was that they were buried in the mix a bit sometimes. I had never been to the Aragon before and really enjoyed it. Great room with a cool vibe and a ton of history.

The Black Crowes Rocked the Fox

by Matt Rubenstein on 4/21/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I can’t even guess how many times we’ve gone to see a great band that I’ve loved forever and cringed when I heard the words “this next song is from our new album”. Not so with the Black Crowes! Their new album, Happiness Bastards, is loaded with great new material and they rocked it (as well as a lot of old favorites) at the Fox in Oakland. We saw them at the Silver Legacy in Reno a couple years ago and I didn’t think that show could be topped - this one did. Rich and Chris performed like they don’t hate each other and the band and backing vocals sounded tight and clean. They’re definitely worth seeing. Go catch their show if you get the chance.

    Too loud to enjoy.

by KR on 4/19/24Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Too loud to enjoy without earplugs. I had to leave and watch from monitors outside. No problem if one has little respect for their hearing. I never understood how a performer feels they make a better impact if they turn up the volume. I’m probably just getting old lol

    Amazing!

by Kinni on 4/19/24McCaw Hall - Seattle

Opening band left a little to be desired. 20 year olds trying to play and dress like hippies. Crows were awesome. Glad to get to see the brothers back together! Venue was great as well.

One of the best concerts I've been to lately. Great song selections, good old classics and some incredible new ones that do not disappoint!

    I had higher hopes

by Gordo on 4/19/24Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I had higher hopes for this great band. Chris had energy as usual. The rest of the band did not. No stories, no mentioning Canada or Vancouver. He didn't even introduce the other members of the band. Overall an OK show but I was expecting way more

    Absolutely amazing

by Chris on 4/19/24Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was my first time seeing the Black Crowes live. I've been a fan since they came onto the scene in the early 90's. They haven't lost a step over the years. Their ability to control the emotion in the venue and capture the audience was incredible. I was moved by the emotion of their performance, seeing them perform live was an incredible experience. So glad I went.

Girls Night Out to the Black Crowes

by concertchic on 4/19/24McCaw Hall - Seattle

Great venue!!! Sat in DC22. Seats are comfortable and view was great. Loved the stage setup. Sound was great and not too loud (actually could've been louder). Parking was easy being a Monday night. We enjoyed our night out!!! Can't wait to see The Black Crowes again in November.

    Awesome

by Cdaddy on 4/18/24McCaw Hall - Seattle

The concert was absolutely amazing. The venue was the best. Better than I was expected. More importantly. The band was very mindful of everyone else’s time. I’ve never been to a concert where it was so punctual. Opening band started right at 8 o’clock. The Crowes came on right at 9 o’clock. It was clockwork, beautiful, and I got home on time. And I had a ferry to catch. If there was a downside. It was the Seattle centers armory where food is served. They only had three restaurants opened and they were closing at 6 o’clock. Everything else was closed.. besides that, wonderful concert and experience. And I’ve been to a lot of them.

Band was great, vocals were too low

by yup on 4/18/24McCaw Hall - Seattle

the band kicked butt and sounded great, but from where I was sitting, the vocals were too low in the mix- Chris Robinson has such a great voice and at times I was straining to hear him. Otherwise it was kick ass- the opener was pretty fun too- like late 70's glam rock

The Black Crowes deftly combined new and classic songs. I was so impressed with their new work that I bought the new vinyl. The venue was great as well.

Kind of a mess of a show

by GanGreen on 4/18/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I've seen the BC's many times in the distant past. I've seen Magpie, Crow Flies, Brotherhood, etc. This show was at the bottom. The sound was off. It felt disjointed. No connection with the audience. Songs were just ok. They played their new stuff which is really good but it just sounded messy. I love the venue, the stage looked really cool, but the band was off.

    Fantastic show!

by Tallcrow on 4/17/24Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I've been to more than 20 Black Crowes shows and this one is up there with the top 3 best! Them bringing out Ronnie Wood as a special guest to perform "Stay with Me"was a very nice surprise and thoroughly enjoyable, especially from such a close proximity. They also performed my #1 choice which was "Cursed Diamond", which I had never seen them do before. All that, in combination with their incredible new songs from "Happiness Bastards", made this one unforgettable show!

    Psychedelic embrace

by SBA on 4/16/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Asteroid #4's psychedelic embrace at the Fox Theater in Oakland was both nostalgic and fresh, transporting us to a kaleidoscopic journey on a rainy night. They set the perfect tone with dreamy atmospheres, leading us to The Black Crowes who ignited the crowd with electrifying energy. It was a night of shared musical passion that left us craving more long after the final encore.

    So Disappointing

by Rob on 4/16/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Fox Theater is a great venue and it’s always fun to see Chris Robinson rockin’ out, but the sound was absolutely terrible at the show. Did the sound person fall asleep at the board? At times it felt like everything was just turned up to 11 and it was impossible to distinguish the words being sung from everything else. Fortunately enough hits were played that singing along took over for lead singing. I’m not faulting the band’s performance but am concerned about future shows I have tickets for at the Fox.

    Loved It

by Bobby on 4/16/24Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

It was great to see The Black Crowes live at The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. They played a good mix of old and new music and I danced my butt off! It did seem that the two guitarists were competing with each other which isn’t necessarily a problem but sometimes you couldn’t hear a distinct lead guitar line. Still loved the concert and very happy I got to see them.
