About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

    The BLACKCROWES were AWESOME!!!

by AHALEYB on 7/15/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

From the moment we checked into the Beau our trip was better than expected!!! I couldn't have asked for a better venue to see one of my ALL time favorite bands. We had decent tickets, which had a better than expected view. We were able to get on the floor and up close without any problems. Of course, the band itself was GREAT! Good vibes & great tunes!!! My only complaint was that they didn't play "She Talks to Angels," which is my favorite... All in all it was an awesome show & an awesome night. I hope more GREAT bands come to the Beau! It's definitely worth the trip!!!

    Double Down On Black Crowes

by tonohoney on 7/15/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

Rolled in from Atlanta, GA on my way to New Orleans. Sounds like it could be the opening lyric to another, in a long list, of great Black Crowes road songs. It's just the truth. It was the closest opportunity I was given to see the Black Crowes with the currently posted tour dates. So I took it. Biloxi, MS? Seemed like a strange place to utter your first musical words back in the States from a European tour, until I arrived. What a great atmosphere surrounding a venue and the show itself. Total party vibe. No sooner was I at the counter checking in to my hotel room, then my eye was catching flashes of Black Crowes' paraphenalia left and right. It was showtime in just 2 hours. Well, where's the show? Go into the casino? Well alright! Sounded interesting. And it was. What a phenomenal venue. Nestled right there in the casino just beyond the slots. When people say "there's not a bad seat in the house", this must be the place they're talking about. My seats were slight stage right,. . . last row. Literally, last row. My back touched my seat. My seat's back touched the wall. But I still felt like I could reach out and touch the stage. Then came the better news. General admission on the floor. Needless to say I was center stage three people deep in about 2.7 seconds. That's where I remained through a great set of old and new Black Crowes tunes, mixed in with a few beer and bathroom runs, of course. What a show. 2 solid hours of rock'n'roll in the middle of gambling victory and debouchery, and you'd never know it. Not one single intereference from the casino rambled in to the music venue. It was a perfect womb to safely house the perfect show. The boys were in good spirits. Few words were spoken, and few needed to be. As usual, the Crowes let the music do the talking. They rocked, they rolled, they mellowed, they moved. Hoghlights for me were, my new favorite Black Crowes song, "Oh, Josephine" and my all time favorite Crowes tune "Sometimes Salvation". My last reference to the ladder is MISSING that song in three straight nights of shows at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. Should've gone all four nights. My only slight disappointment was not hearing ANY of the songs off the upcoming album. No big deal really. Warpaint still feels new. Overall, diverse, well played show. Awesome, intimate setting. Let's not talk about what happened in the casino AFTER the show. After all, we're all aware that "what happens in Biloxi, stays in Biloxi".

    Black Crowes in Biloxi

by groovdog on 7/15/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

Great venue, great musicianship, great time overall. I wish they would have played more of their hits and not "jammed' as much on others. Still a great show.

    The Black Crowes rocked!!

by Ruhaffey on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

The show was awesome! Chris Robinson is a TRUE rockstar! The small venue was a great place to really enjoy the band. The only problem we had was an extremely drunk girl falling down behind us and spilling beer on us. She could barely stand up and kept kicking and hitting us unknowingly to her. We told someone who worked there but nothing was done. Her friend finally took her out and we were able to enjoy the rest of the awesome show!!

Black Crowes at the House of Blues Cleveland

by djl1015 on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

This show was an incredible disappointment. To be fair, I left halfway through because I couldn't take it anymore, so perhaps they really picked it up at the end, but I doubt it. The doors opened at 7:30pm, but the band didn't start until about 9:30pm. There were no opening bands, which is fine, but they should have started at 8:30pm at the latest. For the approximate 90 minutes that I was there, the Black Crowes performed only two songs that I even knew, and only one that was (sort of) a hit. For the price of concert tickets, I expect a band to play all of their hits, and for the set list to be full of songs that engage the audience. This was missing here, so much so that I left the event early, which I have never done over more than 20 years and 75+ rock shows. To make matters worse, the sound quality at the House of Blues was poor. This is the second show I've seen at HOB (the first was Collective Soul in June), and it was even worse the first time (a lot of feedback & distortion). The sound quality and concert experience can really be amazing at a small club like this, but HOB does not deliver at all. The show quality was particularly disappointing as I had seen the Crowes perform in 1995 or so at a similar venue, and the band and the sound quality was amazing. I got a great show for $15 fourteen years ago, and a really crappy show for $50 in 2009. Don't bother- just crank up the awesome Crowes tunes at home!

    Another great Crowes show

by ADenofThieves on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

The venue was very intimate. The floor was open to all and I was standing as close to the band as I have ever been, right in between Chris and Rich. The sound was good, the guys were in to it, as was the crowd. And Rich just keeps getting better. The Crowes are one of the few real rock and roll bands left. And they still know how to put on a show.

    The Black Crowes were awesome!

by Saucedaddy on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

The 'Crowes came out to play. Even though the venue was quite small for such a huge act, they rocked as if in front of 50,000 . I knew there were not very many hard core fans there. All I heard was "Where have I been? These guys are awesome!". They played a good mix from "Shake Your Money Maker" to "Warpaint". Everyone was blown away

Black Crowes - House of Blues - AMAZING!

by litehouse63 on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

I try and see most of the Black Crowes shows when they around Michigan, Ohio or Illinois. So far - last nights concert and the House of Blues was the best. The sound was great and the atmosphere was very Black Crowes. I give it a high recommendation to anyone that lovers the Black Crowes. I plan on watching for them to come back around to the House of Blooms in the future!

    Wow!

by GashlyJ on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The Black Crowes embody what good ol' American Rock n' Roll should always be. And this time, they didn't play the "favorites" which was even better! It's nice to go to shows where it's just about the music, not over-produced theatrics and back-drops and pyrotechnics and "rock stars" pandering for attention. Unfortunately, they seemed to have lost a good section of the crowd by NOT playing the favorites, and Chris even commented at one point about everyone talking while they were trying to play...but I guess you'll have that sometimes. They delivered real, honest music and it was an awesome two hours! Can't wait till they come back again!

    Crowes always rip it!

by JTGram on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

A great show as usual...Chris a little pissed at the crowd for talking, but they put a great set together...a little blues, a little soul, even a little roller skating disco, and of course some good ol' rock and roll. Love seeing these guys whenever I can. Great hat worn by Chris last night.

    Best Band Live Ever

by viper190plus on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

This was my tenth Black Crowes concert and by far their best performance. Being in the small venue really makes for a great live show. If you have not seen them live its a must.

Black crowes - another awesome show

by cal35 on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The Black crowes played another great show. They are the best performer. There is never a dull moment and their music can make anyone get up and move. If you ever get a chance to see them go. Never stop making music.

black crowes rocked, grooved, and jammed

by markjazzbassist on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

An evening with the Black Crowes turned into a great show. They played for 2 hours with a break in between the 2 sets. Playing mostly newer songs they rocked jammed and grooved the place and got the crowd into it. Amazing Guitar solos and keys as well. Amazing show!

    Love the Crowes

by EJT71 on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

To me, the Crowes can do no wrong. I really love their attitude and new (and old) songs. If you want to hear studio album versons, you will have to listen to the singles because this isn't your 90's Black Crowes. 5 STARS!

    LOVE THE CROWES

by Jajf34 on 7/13/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

I have seen them 15 times.....even once with Jimmy Page. This show was the best by far! The VooDoo Lounge is such an intimate venue. I was right within arms distance of Chris and Rich Robinson. The version of My Morning Song was incredible! I had also never heard She Talks to Angels live before.....so that was amazing as well! To the fan who wanted a setlist of their best hits....the show was probably a disapooinment aas they did not do Jealous, Remedy, or a Thorn in My Pride. But to the real hardcore fan....it was AMAZING!

    We want Morica!

by Shelbstock on 7/12/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

The Crowes again put on a solid and refreshing evening with. I do believe that Luther has fully taken command of my favorite guitar player of all time. His sound is so unique, and blends like chocolate syrup with the effortless mastery in which Rich Robinson provides. They ended with Bob Marley! LOVED IT!

    Black Crowes Still Deliver

by Jealous64118 on 7/12/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

The Crowes take the stage, and after seventeen years of catching them live, they still bring a smile to my face. With an ever changing and evolving set list you never know what you are going to get; one thing is for sure the show is never a disappointment. They choose songs that take you through time; songs that transcend time. They have such a large body of music that two hours are just not enough for them to play everything a person could want to hear. However, you leave satisfied just because they played, and you got to be there. Their choice of intimate venues allows for the true Crowes experience. The Voodoo Lounge has a capacity of around 1,300 people; no matter where you are in the lounge you have a good space to experience the show. Bartenders, security and supports staff were wonderful.
