Black Crowes refuse to play the hits

by chefbrian on 7/22/13The Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel - Nashville

The Black Crowes still have a great sound and can rock when they choose but when you have sat through 95 degree temps for hours in the dirt you would expect that they would play at least some songs that made you spend $75 for that luxury. It never happened. The 14 song set contained only the hit Remedy. Nothing from Shake Your Money Maker their biggest commercially successful album. Instead it was ballad after ballad. If you are a forty something like me... and there were plenty of us there, your left feeling disappointed and ripped off. To me the value is in enjoying the classics with the new stuff sprinkled in and not the other way around. They are not great enough to pull the artist choice card on us and these classic bands need to remember why we buy tickets. I would not go to see them again. Three of the songs weren't even theirs.

Black Crows and Tedeschi Trucks Band

by Bigike48 on 7/22/13The Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel - Nashville

Susan Tedeschi and Derek trucks were outstanding, The audio levels were perfect and the music was great. Not so much the Black Crows. The sound was distorted and too loud. We left after 4 songs

A Good Friday with The Crowes

by BaldEagle3244 on 7/22/13The Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel - Nashville

Good show! Enjoyed the Velvet Underground cover of Oh Sweet Nuthin' as well as Otis Redding cover of Show Me with Tedeschi & Trucks playing and singing along! I still think they're much better indoors inside small venues that seat less than 2,000. Fontanel was an ok venue--not the best--not the worst.
