Such a memorable show
The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis
This musical is different than any show I have ever seen- and I love it. The unique pacing and traditional music made it stand out from overdone Broadway shows that are very popular now. The story may be simple, but it carries many important lessons that one can experience in their day-to-day lives. One of my favorite shows ever.

One of the Worst
The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis
This play was one of the worst I've ever seen. Actors dropped their lines, timing was off, everything was slow. It didn't start on time. I almost got up and left. The only bright spot was the band performance at the end. This was a really bad experience.

Disappointed
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
With the Broadway production of the Band's Visit being such a huge success, and having had such wonderful experiences with Broadway traveling shows, I was ready for a great experience but was sadly very disappointed. The show was flat. Their was NO spark between the lead characters, so little emotion expressed. With no major show stopper songs, coupled with flat emotion and no charisma, the production was a dud. Darn! I had high hopes.

Not worth the trip
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
Difficult to follow. After the first 20 min or so we were ready to leave. Audio was poor. The really best part was the band playing after the actual play was over. Maybe I just "didn't get it".

I think I lost brain cells
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
Wish we could get the money back for this. Almost fell asleep in the first 30 minutes. I would classify this as a subpar performance. A full 90 minutes of confusion and the feeling of wanting to leave. I wouldn't call this a play at all.

So-So
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
I was really looking forward to seeing this show and was disappointed. I appreciate the fact that it is a show that is bringing different cultures to the stage, I was really just hoping for a lot more music. The story line was a little hard to follow a couple of times and a little slow. I thought since it was about a band there would have been a lot more music. Would I recommend at this time to anyone, probably not, I think there is room for improvement.

Lovely, touching show
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
It's easy to see why this musical won so many Tonys! It is not huge and splashy, but more contemplative, with a great score and universal themes about the power of music and kindness. We loved it!

Improvement in the sound system
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
My husband and I saw The Band's Visit on Saturday, March 12 at 2pm. The band music was wonderful however we could not understand much of the heavy accents and every time an actor turned his or her head away from the audience we had a very hard time hearing what they were saying. I think this was true for other folks in our area/section (section F Row 14) because when other parts of the audience were laughing no one was in our section. For us the play was disappointing because we could not hear the talking parts the singing was OK. We did love the band music.

Beautiful & Real
Paramount Theatre - Seattle
I really enjoyed this play, it was so real and the music was so beautiful. It is refreshing to see a different side of the story between Arabs and Israelis one that doesn't contain war and tension. All the scenes were so close to real-life issues that we all go through and it was easy to relate. It was a delight to see these two would converge and see how music could connect them for a short period of time.
