The Backseat Lovers is a rock band from Salt Lake City, UT. The band formed when lead vocalist Joshua Harmon, having heard of local drummer Juice Welch, introduced himself and asked if he wanted to start a band. They immediately started working on arrangements for some of Josh's songs. Later Josh met lead guitarist and vocalist Jonas Swanson while waiting in line for an open mic at the Velour in Provo city. Neither of them got on the list to play that night, so they sat on a park bench outside the venue and played their songs to each other until they ran out of stuff to play. Josh invited Jonas to come down and play with he and Juice. It was that night that Out of Tune, a song Josh had been holding onto since he was 16, came to life when they arranged it as a group.
In spring of 2018 the band began recording together. They released their self produced EP Elevator Days on June 3, 2018 and played their first show a few
short weeks after. They released their first full length LP, When We Were Friends on January 27th, 2019 which features the single "Kilby Girl" with over 35 million streams globally. The band released their newest song "Heavy" in July of 2020. The group is currently writing new material that they say is a product of the co-writing chemistry that has grown between Jonas & Joshua since the band started.

Backseat lovers appeared to be high and there energy was low and overall the music is better online rather than in person
Hands down the best concert I have ever been to. Their jams that blend songs together… musically genius!! Love them so much!!!
THESE GUYS NEVER FAIL TO PUT ON A SHOW!!! SOO GOOD. THEY ARE GONNA BE HUGE
I already loved the Backseat Lovers and knew the concert would be great, but they put on a fantastic performance and sounded even better live than they do in their recordings. Easily my favorite concert i’ve ever been to. We had so much fun and we’re even bigger fans now.
The music was really great and the sound and lights were really cool and elevated the experience.
the backseat lovers absolutely killed it i loved the music but the venue was super understaffed with only one emt. it was also way to stuffed with people and the security was not able to handle the amount of people who passed out and needed care. overall loved seeing the backseat lovers but would not go back to this venue
Starting with the opener, the vibes were immediately set to be an amazing experience. The opening guitars were so cool and just life changing. Every song did not disappoint, and the crowd interaction with the band was amazing. The special effects made the show in itself ten times better. Overall this concert was my all time favorite that I've ever been to.
it was so amazing they did such a good job and i wanna be back there. ive been waiting for this concert for so long and it definitely didn’t disappoint. im so sad im not there right now and the merch, especially the hoodie, is so comfy. i love the backseat lovers so so much omg
I saw the backseat lovers twice, and the most recent time was an absolute blast!
Not my first time seeing them, but they get better every time! Thank you!!
everyone there was so cool and happy to be there!! Their stage presence was so amazing i literally have never been to a better concert!! 5000938383882/10 i wish i could go back
The people at this show caused me and my friend to have a night filled of anxiety and pain. The show itself was fine but everyone around me was pushing and shoving causing fights in the crowd.
they put on an awesome show. just go. so much fun. sound great live. why am i having to convince you to go. if you’re unsure just give me ur ticket.
the band and sound was great, was packed but not too crazy. only part that sucked was stopping the opener so much for people but that’s nobody’s fault.
This was hands down one of the best concerts I have been to. From the vocals to the music, somehow they were better live than the albums. The heart and soul put into every strum of the guitar moves you. The crowd was always entertained and left wondering what the song was going to be. The guitar riffs just topped it all off and everyone was just left wanting more by the end of the night. Beautiful show.
the band was great, however the venue got quickly overcrowded. the pit ended up being to full, making people clutter the stairs and bar. basically if you had pit tickets, you had to be there at 7 am to make sure you're actually in the pit. it seemed poorly planned on the venue to let it get that full. bigger band = more people, memo shouldve been understood earlier??
Great show in a super quaint venue. The Fillmore was top notch. Bar/Vendor in all 4 corners, merch set up along back of venue made for super easy refreshments and merch lines. Band put on a great performance and parking was easy to navigate afterward.
never fails to provide such a great showing experience!!
I had gotten my tickets hassle free during the presale in December. My friends and I were counting down the days. When the day finally came we got there early and waited in line to get as close to the front as possible. We within arms reach of the front and didn’t miss a bit of the action. I felt every strum and drum and every emotion each song carried. This was my first concert ever and I absolutely loved it.
