The queens stole the show! Good job to these young dancers dancing roles that are usually danced by 25 and older professionals. How cool that they get to experience this! Now this is what mentoring and growing dancers are all about! BRAVO!!! Snow scene will just always be my favorite and that young girl fit that role perfectly! She was stunning!
We received a free ticket from someone who could not attend. I grew up seeing ballet in NYC so I have to say I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! The costumes were breathtaking! The girls dresses at the party were stunning. Having all the queens was a nice surprise. I thought the cost for the show was right. I think this is a good show to start young kids maybe thinking about ballet or dance.
I can’t believe someone would write such horrible things about children who clearly have talent and clearly worked hard. Yes, it did look like the stage was slippery but - WOW - I bet that person that wrote that review has never been on stage before or danced. To keep your poise and confidence after seeing fellow participants slip is VERY PROFESSIONAL! Comparing this show to Ballet Arizona is insane!! - Their kids don’t even dance hardly. The entire 2nd half is paid professionals and their Clara doesn’t do anything but sit! She barely dances! Also if you have seen their show they don’t change their steps year after year either - Hello! This person seems like a disgruntled past employee or student that didn’t get the role they wanted - Ok - done with that rant! It’s a sweet show & very family friendly. My granddaughter loved seeing the baby teacups and watching the snow come down in the snow scene (that dancer was SO STUNNING) if I had one complaint was that the dancing scene in the first act at the party house was very long.
We have been to many ballets and I actually love that there are so many kids in this production! At least for my family it’s great for my kids to see kids their age. It’s more entertaining! Especially watching the itty bitty kids! That snow scene is gorgeous! We also loved how the queens were all available after the production for photos. We had pictures with Santa as well! Bravo!
I'm not sure if the stage was slippery or the dancers just weren't very good, but almost every Queen had a stumble. Angels actually fell down. Snow Queen fell out of a Pique Arabesque, and dancers were falling out of pirouettes. Clara's dress flew up over her head and got stuck on her headpiece, blocking her face. She also kept forgetting her dances, and wasn't synchronized whenever she danced with the Best Friends. Choreography had been dumbed down since the last time I'd seen it, and it seemed that the same basic set of steps was repeated over and over in each dance, just with slight changes to fit the music. Do not make the mistake of thinking that "Arizona Nutcracker"means the Nutcracker performed by Ballet Arizona. That one is at Symphony Hall. This one is performed by a bunch of kids from a local dance studio.
This is the best Nutcracker performance! It really brings you the joy of the holidays! The dancers, costumes, sets, and choreography is always so amazing! You don’t want to miss out on this show!
A magical performance full of joy! It got even better now that it is at The Madison. I cannot wait to go again this year!
The Arizona Nutcracker production has become an annual holiday tradition with family and friends for many years. It is a fun, well-produced version of this holiday favorite which is enjoyed by all age groups.
This show is spectacular! You can see all of the love and effort that goes it this production! The kids are so talented and it’s super fun!
Great dancing and production. Christmas in the valley! Highly recommend.
Going to the nutcracker every year is one of our favorite holiday traditions and this nutcracker is amazing! From the costumes to the dancing everything is top notch! Highly recommend adding this nutcracker to your holiday traditions with your family! You will love it!
As a former professional dancer who has danced in many productions of this Holiday classic I know a great production when I see one. I have seen many Nutcracker productions over the years from professional companies to local studios and this is one of the best! From the exquisite costumes, to the sets, and of course the beautiful dancers you are in for a treat with Arizonas Nutcracker magical production of The Nutcracker!
The Arizona Nutcracker is a must see! It is such a magical holiday tradition. This production is like no other, the props & backdrops are beautiful and the costumes are truly spectacular. We love the many special touches, the dancers are talented and we love being able to meet them at the end of the show. Our family has made this a must do each season and we can’t wait to see it again.
Our family has beent attending the Arizona Nutcracker for the past 3 years and can not imagine the holidays without it! This is a stunning professional production of the classic Nutcracker with some of the most talented young dancers I have ever seen! We can't wait for the show!!!!
This is such a great show. I had read the one bad review and knew I needed to write. This production is very professional. We attend a new Nutcracker every year and this is BEAUTIFUL! Yes, they are kids ages 4-18 and not paid professionals but that’s why my kids loved the show!!! The cast signs autographs and Santa comes out and you can have pictures taken with the entire cast. Definitely worth the cost!!!
Honestly, each time I see this performance I’m blown away and how impressive and charming it is! It’s evident that the cast works really hard and is proud to put on this show every year! I definitely recommend taking your family to see such a beautiful show. Happy Holidays!
Avoid! Avoid! This is just a local phoenix dance studio for little kids. It's not a professional ballet. If you want to watch a cute kids nutcracker, go somewhere cheaper.
Our family has attended this Nutcracker performance for the past 2 years and can't wait to see it again this year. Beautiful set and the dancers are amazing.
The Arizona Nutcracker is a wonderful performance of a Classic for all ages. The extremely well choreographed and talented young dancers, the spectacular custumes, and beautiful scenes all make for a magical and memorable evening.
