  • Allman Brothers- one of the best I've seen

by Johnbell on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

This was an excellent concert from the beginning, walked right up to the venue and didn't have to stand in line, the people checking tickets and bags were friendly, and so was the staff member who helped us find our seats. I had never seen Grace Potter and the Nocturnals before, but they were a great opening band. The Allman Brothers came on and played everything I could have wanted and more, Tinsley Ellis and Jimmy Herring guest appearances were icing on the cake. The laid-back atmosphere made for one of the best concerts I've seen at Verizon.

  • Steve Winwood and Allman Brothers - A Mixed Night

    by Michael2131 on 9/5/13Comcast Theater - HartfordRating: 4 out of 5

First, please don't stand and dance the entire night. That makes the people behind you stand and some cannot stand for extended periods of time. Your ticket does not give you the right to impact my concert experience. We had 4 such thoughtless people in front of us and it was awful. Expensive tickets and a cheap seat experience. That's just not right. Steve Winwood was just outstanding. He never disappoints and both he and the band were into it as was the crowd. He played about 1.25 hours and that was a treat. 5 stars Tha Allman Brothers Band was just OK. I prefer Greg Allman with his band. The songs just seemed to go off on extended jams and that was pretty much boring after the first couple of times. 3 stars

Even though they are much older than they used to be, The Allman Brothers rocked the place! Jimmy Herring also made an appearance. What an amazing night for true rock fans. They know music.

  • Allman Brothers rock at Verizon

by Ambermia on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

I have not seen a Allman Bros. concert in 42 years until Monday night. I had seen them at the Fillmore East with Duane Allman and Dickey Betts. I also attended the Allman Bros. first concert after Duane Allman's tragic death at the New York Academy of music November of 1971 and they didn't lose a beat. 42 years later the duo of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks were GREAT. Derek Trucks is the best slide guitarist since Duane. It's a shame Duane died so young before he ever reached his potential. In my opinion he was the greatest slide guitarist of his time. I was very impressed with Derek Trucks he is a amazing guitarist and is listed #16 on the all time list. Based on todays music I don't know how he can move up the list past legends but deserves to be in the top 5

  • Awesome show this year!

by KMWM on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't sure what to expect because last year's show was just so-so. However, this one was really good! Greg even played a little guitar! Highly recommend seeing these guys in person!

  • Allman Brothers Band as good as it gets!

by RCBowden on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

The Allman Brothers Band soared right back to the perfect note of the 70's in sound and style. Seeing them for the first time in 1970 and then again in Atlanta in Sept. 2013 all I had to do was close my eyes and relive the past. Their set selection was a strong balance of old classic and the current riffs. Opened by Grace Potter and the Nocturnails to set the mood made for an awesome combo. This little band packs a bunch delivered by Grace. From the opening note to the close of the finial ABB encore this was a solid event.

  • Allman Brothers and Grace Potter - outstanding sho

by winecrisp on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

this was one of the nest Allman Brothers performances I've seen - Greg's voice was strong, the band was tight and Jimmy Herring and Tinsley Ellis were a pleasant addition to the band. Grace Potter was also excellent but it was too bad the we couldn't see the band on the big screens (because it was still daylight) - I'd like to see this entire show again!

  • Best ABB I've seen in Years

by merecat on 9/5/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Greg sounded the best that I have heard him in years. The band was tight and locked in. The crowd was just as much a part of the whole experience. Great show!!!!

  • Classic Rock & Roll Show!!!

by KEHJNTKKIEHTJK on 9/4/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Hearing that Steve Winwood was the opening act, lets anyone know that they are in for a great show. It was beyond great!! Maybe the best show I've seen this year, and I've seen many. The Winwood/ABB combination might throw off some people but it's a great match! Wish I had seen them more often this tour than just this one show.

Either Steve Winwood and The Allman Brothers would have been worth the trip. It was an awesome concert!

  • Steve Winwood/Allman Brothers Band was great!!

by Listen2TheMusic on 9/3/13Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

First time I had seen Steve Winwood in concert and he was amazing. He provided non-stop AAA entertainment and projected a very genuine/humble (but confident) performance for his audience! Warren Haynes displayed a command of the guitar that you won't see with many masters of the instrument. I don't think there is anything he can't perfectly execute on the 6-string! Greg Allman was "all in" all night and did a fantastic job. My hat's off to the (both) bands! All the musicians played from the heart and did a great job in Charlotte!

  • Allman's and Winwood

by Mattandsarahsdad on 9/3/13Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 4 out of 5

Steve Winwood can still sing and his performance was high energy (for 60 something years old) and played songs like Low Spark with passion and energy I do not think I could muster after 40 years of playing the song. A really solid set. The Allmans were pleasantly surprising. The last few times I had seen them Greg Allman looked like he was there to get paid and that was it, like he mailed it in in advance. Tonite though he displayed great enthusiasm for the music, was energized, was interested and was in decent voice. For people who were looking for a Greatest Hits show, you must have been disappointed. But for those of us who really like the Allmans, respect the heritage and the band, a truly great night of music. Aside from all that, the front three of Oteil Burbidge on Bass and then Derek Trucks with Warren Haynes on dueling lead guitars is almost an unfair advantage over any other band on the road today.
