Wonderful show..Gregg sounded great...band tight ..good playlist...
The Allman Brother's concert on Fri Sep 6 was truly a great concert. We enjoyed the venue and thought the playlist was enjoyable. We particularly we excited to hear a Dead tune (Friend of the Devil), a Band tune (The Weight) along with all the wonderful Allman Brother's tunes. The guitarists were wonderful, and drum solo amazing. Can't wait until next year.
Whenever you see an Allman Brothers show, they never disappoint. Percussion set was incredible. Great vibe. I have incredible respect for these musicians who give it their all and can rock and jam like no other band.
Almost EVERY SUMMER Allmans in Mansfield. Always a Fantastic Time. This year, no exception - lots of Warren and Derek T - Great Mountain Jam!!!!!
Warren and Derrick are better w/ Greg than in their own bands. I've seen Warren and Derrick Many times and this was the best BY FAR. Greg was on top of his game as were all the Bros. The light show was phenomenal too. Lots of photos of Dwayne, Berry, etc, and all the great venerable black bluesmen who wrote many of the tunes they play. Just the best. Downpoint- No "Don't Want you no more into Cross to Bear :-( , Hot Lanta or Whipping Post! :-0 but the VERY BEST Black Hearted Woman....Statesboro Blues was truly inspired too. I first saw them in 1970 or 1971 at The Boston Tea Party, and then in '73 at Watkins Glen.
Love the fact that they just jam.....no talking...no politics...just great music and always a fun crowd
Solid performance all around. Good jam with members from Grace Potter.
all I can say is look at Jones Beach set list and all i can say is we deserved better
For the most part it was a good show. No whipping-post, which was dissapointing, but many others were played which were great to hear. Warren sang one bluesy-tune which I had not heard before which was nice. Only heard the last 1/2 of the last song of the warm-up band (something about Oh-La-La), which was more than enough I must say... and it was dissapointing to see members of the warm-up band (Grace Potter) come out and play a version of "The Weight" (which was a less-than-desirable version except for Warren and Dereks guitar parts) with the Allman's... I would have been fine if I had not heard/seen that! :). Other than that, it was a good show. Comcast Center is a good place to see a show... so will be back there I am sure.
the allman brothers killed it. The show was on fire. sound was too quiet for the 1st 2 songs, then they fixed it and it was great.
ABB played a great show with some excellent live editions of their songs. This is the 4th or 5th time I've seen them and they do not disappoint. Go see them before they stop touring!!!
The Allman Brothers and Grace Potter were absolutely amazing, as usual!! Grace Potter completely stole the show. My only regret is that she went on pretty early, around 6:30 so we missed some of her set since it was on a Friday afternoon. I find lately with the ticket fees being absolutely outrageous and most concerts being on weeknights I most likely won't be able to see my favorite bands in the next few years unfortunately.
With the addition of Derek Trucks and "special guests" guitarists, it made for a special night of entertainment. Gregg and his band were on their game for sure.
Allman Brothers still sound amazing!!! The guitar solos were fabulous!!!! Rock on!!!
I had not seen the Allmans in 20 years. They were the consummate professionals with very tight instrumentation. Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes' dual guitars were reminiscent of Duane and Dickie. Derek Trucks is the best young guitarist in the current musical scene with his ferocious, slashing slide technique. Loved the "Midnight Rider," "Les Brers in A Minor," and "Blue Sky" trio in mid concert. The spiritual Van Morrison song, "Into the Mystic," was an interesting choice for encore followed by an energetic "Southbound."
69th time I've seen Allman Brothers and they do not/did not disappoint.Incredible show and set list.
Nice venue (Farm Bureau Live). Grace Potter and the Nocturnals opened and were amazing. I'm not a huge Allman Brothers fan, but I was impressed with their energy and quality of sound. They covered most of there hits and Grace came out at the end for an encore of The Band's The Weight. Great time!!!!
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals rocked with such passion and energy that it is hard to imagine they were not the headliners. The diversity of musical styles and Grace Potter's vocal range and power make this band a must see, no matter if they are first or last on the billing!! The Allman Brothers Band went through their repertoire and were well rehearsed and tight, but honestly were not as inspiring or interactive with the crowd as Grace Potter.
Been fan of Allman Brothers since the very beginning. This was my first time to see them in person. They were even better than I thought they could be. Talent never grows old, even though some personnel changes over the years. Gregg's voice was in fine shape, Warren great licks on guitar and fine vocals, too; and, what can you say about Derek that has not already been said, such a great young talent. And, the rhythm section was awesome. I plan on seeing them again, when possible.
I grew up listening to their music, but this was the firsttime I saw them live. I was really blown away. the fluidness of the band is more apparent live and the crowd just fed off that. I am already looking forward to my next Brothers show. Oh yeah, Derrick Trucks can destroy a guitar!
